I got this rumors from a friend's family member..... Actually it's more of a story than a rumor....
My friend's family member (female), just got out of women's prison (duh) and brought back some interesting story....
While in there, she met a nenek (old lady) nearly 60+ years old. What she got in for... feeding cats... A nenek was arrested and put in jail for 6 mths just coz she feed cats.... what's up with that? -

There has been a standing rule by HDB that prohibits the feeding of stray cats in the void decks, due to the high birth rate of these cats that are left to wander the HDB neighbor, causing a nuisance during the mating season.
This prohibition was extended to the feeding of wild pigeons, which are well known to dirty the neighborhood with their droppings - and more urgently so, with the current mysteriously uncurable Bird Flu problems.
The net effect of the feeding of cats and pigeons is that left-over food will be consumed by rodents, crows, dogs and occassionaly monkeys.
The Town Councils have since taken over the administration of this rule with a gentler touch, but HDB may step in when the situation becomes a serious nuisance to the public.
The SPCA has its own views about the effects of such severe rules, and believe that a more responsible and caring approach can help to address the concerns raised in the breeding of unwanted pests.
Six months for feeding cats ? This sounds like an overkill.
It is the arrogance in the ease of use of legislation to change social behaviour. -

can't be commenting on a judgement made in a badtime story, apparently she has many more interesting stories.

It is a criminal offence to feed stray cats and I am not surprised by the 6-mth jail term.
She must has had a lot of charges against her and it is not the first time she was caught for feeding stray cats... -
I was wondering, no, in fact I have been wondering for a long time now, why all the fuss over cats, dogs, pigeaons, and crows?
There are SO MUCH MORE of those nuisance, pesky, scavenging, and noisey black Mynah birds all over Singapore! And with BIRD FLU around our region, they are a more likely threat than anything else!
If BIRD FLU ever lands on our shores, these Mynah birds are going to be the number one carriers!
This may seem unlikely now, but why wait till s.hit hits the fan???
