Special Consession Card for Senior Citizens?

Do you think our government should give special concession card for all Singapore born citizens who are 60s and above? This concession card should be restricted to only food, transport and medical prescriptions.
e.g. assuming it is a 20% concession, when you buy a $5 meal, you will only need to pay for $4, and the government will pay for the $1. -
why the govt shd pay leh?

This is to help lower the cost of living for the elders. Paying from your own CPF is not call concession, it is using your own saving that cost 2.5% per year

Where is the money coming from? I will not pay more taxes to fund it. As the population grow older, you will have to pay more for such schemes. No. This is impossible.
Elderly who can't afford basic neccessity will received government's aid. Otherwise they should relies on their children or own CPF. -

Lets know forget those uneducated 60s singapore citizens that help rebuild the country after WWII and given you have what you have today. (Cant think of someone that is more selfish than you)
If the government can give out 2b worth of progress package, I am sure they will use less money to fund this concession. Btw, do you know that the population of Singapore born singaporeans is only about 2.5m and many of those who have received the progress package doesnt really need it. -

the elderly should also be given discount or free admission to places of interest (museum, zoo, night safari etc)
consider this as a reward for their contribution to the country. -

If we have the mentality on relying for special concession to get past our life in the future.
We won't be striving to earn money now.
In constrast, we don't think of CPF, don't think of incentives, special privileges, we might even tour around the world when we grow old.

Senior Citizens are already getting rebates and special rates for public transport. In addition to such benefits, cinema shows for them are almost half priced.
In essence, they are already getting sufficient concessions without a 'card' to show for. -
