Internet is the last freedom of expression. People enjoy freedoms and with freedom they will do plenty.
Doesn't the government own the press and TV ? Why so afraid of the sammy. If pap or government is so really concerned about ethics and morality why open the IR against people's strong objections.
Can't it understand that government is not itself too good with its own morality by taking the world's highest salaries when 80% of people are living below the poverty.
Government must understand people have never asked government for morality since it cannot lead by morality. Morality can only be taught by the people and the parents. So government should not try to be hypocrite when it already shows no concern for morality by bringing in the IR.
When government invited the IR, it has already forfeited the right to govern with morality. So do not talk about morality or try to be like the nanny. Parents anyway has never asked government to be nanny. If pap wants to close down sammy, it might as well close down internet and close down the world.
No wonder in PM trip to New Zealand he was so embarassed by the headline news in front of his hosts screaming the way he is controlling people's freedoms. -

Hmm, I tend to think of Sammy boy as an avenue to hear unmoderated views about the goings on in SG, though its definitely biased against the gahment at times.
By requesting for its closure, don't you think that the powers that be are indirectly telling us that we are not smart enough or level headed enought to sift out the rubbish from the gems in Sammyboy...I just feel so staid, so suffocated and so downright brainwashed into thinking all is well and perfect here.....
Just leave Sammyboy alone and continue to focus on issues that concern all in SG.....just consider MDA's response to that poor guy who has already declared that he has no TV...or potential response that anyone who chooses not to have a TV will face from gahment. -

Government is unable to stop opening up of sex parlours in Ang Mo Kio the PM's own constituency operating in the guise of massage parlours.
According to Today (Headline "Sleaze comes to the heartlands, 23.6.2006), Mr. Peter Sng, President of the SPA Association Singapore, he was surprised to learn that more than 500 establishments had registered themselves over a single year to offer massage-related services.".
So with the government's opening of IR, it does not look like it is able to control sleaze or porn.
What is the morality it is now talking about in trying to control website or shut down Sammy Boy. -
The discussion topics on Sammyboy though salacious and "immoral" are reflection of REAL situations in Singapore: namely, that the VICE trade is really a bustling business here, beheath the hypocritical sanctimonious veneer of our so-called 'upright' society.
So let us keep Sammyboy and let the whole world know the hypocrisy of our society, in which people go about their daily lives pretending to be paragon of virtues but in fact are condoners and clients of wh@res.
