With local unemployment hovering around 3 percent, what sector of the economy has caused this low productivity and such high wages ?

With our high labour costs relative to the Indians and Chinese, we can never earn enough to compete by selling disk drives or colour pencils

I only got 2 hands 2 legs and 1 asshole, hence how much can I do with is limited physically...so can only said thank you for wage increases but don't ask for more productivity unless you asked me to use my mouth..

But to me it seems that the government is doing it to the point of overkill. Giving subsidies to some less-privileged but talented foreign students is fine with me, but it seems that every single fella who's a foreigner can get those subsidies. It seems to me that the government worships anything that's foreign while telling the locals to shut up and stop whining.
And I can safely say that some of these so-called FTs can't even hold a candle to what our local students can do. I know, because I've faced off against a number of them in class, and they really can't perform academically. Some of them do barely well enough to stay in NUS.
I'm in NUS now and at the moment, the foreigners dominate the top whereas singaporeans dominate the bottom.
Singaporeans in NUS are complaining about the tough competition from foreigners in NUS all the time.
As a Singaporean, I find it tough also. But I think we should look at ourselves rather than just complain about the situation around you.
All the while, i thought A levels was so difficult. Now i know A levels is one of the easiest syllabus around, much easier than the malaysian STPM, china's gao kao, India's A level etc. I guessed I was brainwashed.
So better prepare hard if you want to go to NUS.
By the way, I'm referring to the faculty of engineering.
