Decision-making power has to be given to HDB and MND as their roles as State Agencies, not extensions of political platforms.If the people in charge cannot perform this simple differentiation of roles or refuse to do so, they have no place in national politics.
You may promise certain expediencies to the people as a political party during campaigning, but the basic fundamental difference between parties and state agencies is that the latter carries out the wishes of the ruling party to an extent that National Interests or common Municipal Interests are not infringed upon.
I wish one day that common sense will replace this keen idiocy that seems to permeate our housing programmes. Call me ashamed to be a Singaporean with a half-cooked municipal housing maintenance program. -

What were the grounds for granting $80 million upgrading to Sitoh (if he won)? Wasn't it because the estate looked rundown as pointed out by SM?
Doesn't rejecting the same plea (from a different person) on different grounds expose his ugly side?

Simply, CST knew he dun have the funds to do lift landing upgrading, but he cannot say 'No' during the elections

Whenever I have to take an overseas client around singapore, I pass by PP, and they ask why this area looks more run down than the rest, I tell them this is the area which didn't vote for the ruling party.

I also remembered in that election LKY used Mr Mah, and Mr Chiam's o level results for comparison. Mr Chiam won, nothing else was said ever since.
