Mr. Ngiam Tong Dow's reflections on cost increases ?

Mr. Ngiam Tong Dow's reflections (Today "A mandarin speaks his mind" 5.7.2006) on auto-piloting of policies by civil servants resulting in PTC's and NWC's sanctioning the continuing regular cost/wage increases are fully supported by forumers' various postings in this and many forums.
Past policies have resulted in high costs of living to Singaporeans because of unthinking following of ministers' and leaders' conceptual assumptions to no end.
All the policies have been exposed and answered by forumers. Robust debates were invited from ministers and MPs but none of them were able to reply various challenges to their policies.
The long and short of Mr. Ngiam's and forumers' view is without all the government support to corporatised services and GLCs to monopolistic fees' and public sector's (NWC) legalistic fee and fare increases the cost increases citizens experienced over the years will not have happened or will be moderated.
There is unfortunately a stoppage to new players entering the market to compete against new corporatised monopolies due to government megalomaniac assumption which went wrong. -
it's a sad state of affairs when the powers figure people are expendable and are only fodder to support the corporates... the heck with Joe Average and Jane Ordinary...
in there, the need for a stronger voice in a strong opposition has never been more vital...
in other places, governments come and go, while the civil service remains constant.. and their sacred duty was always to serve the public...
here, as the monopolistic gabrament sets things up, puts their own into the high offices of the civil service, the civil service has become a tool to perpetuate the powers... rather than to serve the people... this is clear when we look at the Perm Secs of ministries stepping into politics...
i think somewhere, they have forgotten what it means to be a Minister, and what Ministries truly mean..
to minister, is first and foremost, to serve.. and to serve the public... and the ministry is there for the minister to lead to serve the public...
i guess it is the nature of the monopolistic beast to seek out and destroy all that would challenge their power.. and this is very evident in the actions of the gabrament (see LHL's "spend more time fixing the opposition" comment) and the GLCs moving in with their sheer size and wiping out all small-time businesses with a successful niche..

These s l u t s of singapore, all they are only caring for own pockets or the ''ceo'' have to be answerable to its ''share holders'' and to bring as much money as they can when they go to hell.
I felt very disgusting with our government nowadays.

Indecisiveness in the governmental policies - up and down - is it any surprise that David Lim has gone through the full experience of your bobbing hamsters - as ONE from a group of "Super-7 star" promising political entrant in 1997, rising from Minister of State to Minister, out of Cabinet in 2003, became Group President and CEO of NOL in 2004, to become a has-been in 2006.
Can Singaporeans learn to stop bobbing - as if begging for handouts; and find in the genuine self-respect to assert themselves with more confidence to face the future with a New Spirit ?
