Oh my goodness!Originally posted by qpicanto:Usually when u are watching TV, u switch channel when there are commercials because dont want to be compulsive audience. But of course sometime they are so good that u want to watch them! Like the cute one or something that appeal to u.
The commercial that appeal to u may appear to be entertaining but slowly and unknowing u are buying that brand. That is the power of media advertising.
When bombarded with articles that sing praises of the ruling party in the de facto mouthpiece of government, when TV, radio, Supermarkets, trains stations platforms LCDs, all start playing patriotic songs and videos which blurred the line between the party and government, when gigantic portraits of ruling party figure are sighted in strategic locations in townships etc etc
Can u switch channel?
Very difficult to "shield" from this type advertising campaign.
Comment pls
lets not speak for everyone ok? Some of us are perceptive enough to have noticed it for a long time, or maybe their propaganda never really got thru to us.Originally posted by mistyblue:yes, there are lots of Brain washing - from young in school and on all media the people have access. Takes someone from other countries to notice it cause we are all so submerge into all that propaganda already
Such measures have been around for a long time.Originally posted by pearlie27:qpicanto,
are you talking about subliminal brain-washing or Singapore becoming to look like some communist countries?
pls comment.
whats with the word "comrade" and communism arh...i never understood.Originally posted by qpicanto:Such measures have been around for a long time.
In fact if one saw the recent obituary notice of the passing of former ruling party minister. He was referred as " Comrade".
Singapore is not 100% democratic state.
It is a monolithic state (defined as a single large organisation, is slow to change and not interested in individual people).
Perhaps they have Permits for Red Cows??Originally posted by charlize:Hey, when I went shopping in Bugis recently, I saw cut outs of red cows being placed on a field nearby.
