I think there is a need for understanding here. They are different from us. They look different, they speak different, they express themselves differently. Of course, in a majority when differences exists, they become noticable and when something like this takes place, such differences become even more apparent. I urge everyone instead of brooding of these differences, consider the similarities we share. We are individuals who aspire for a better life. Mothers, Fathers alike who want a better life for their kids. Think abt that before u write up any brash and irresponsible petitions.
However, I think there are a few questions I have here. One question which crossed my mind when I read abt the protests was why are we allowing individuals without the neccessary qualifications to survive in this country entry in the first place? Do we have in place the neccessary guidelines and checks which would ensure that these individuals would be able to support themselves while in Singapore? I guess there is a need for re-evaluation here. I think what we need is to ensure any foreign students or their guardians who enter Singapore be able to accomodate themselves through their course of study. This, to safeguard not only Singapores societal equilibrium, but to ensure that these students and their guardians not get caught up in any financial problems during the course of their stay. -

Which org in S;pore arranged this one and only education/working scheme in the world?
We hve to look into the source of the problem in order to find out the solution,
Any corrupted org or persons involved to make the scheme worked both in China and S;pre?
Why PDMMs dare to protest and they knew for such an action would bring shame to their childern? Because they had been cheated by whom?

On the one hand, we had welcomed them to spend their monies to have their children educated in Singapore.
Was this not to achieve a government agenda that some of these Children from China may one day be in a leadership position, and may draw on his childhood experience schooling in Singapore ?
Is this not a downpayment - without cash from the Singapore side - for a good kuanxi relationship one or two decades into the future ?
Why are Singaporean students taking part time jobs when they study overseas ?
Is it not obvious that those overseas Singaporean students - who find work - is to help to lower the financial burden to those supporting their overseas education ?
Are the 'Study-Mama' from PRC taking any jobs away from Singaporeans ?
IF the answer is a clear "NO" - so why are we being so viciously inhospitable ?
The answer is obvious, and a solution can be found that can amicably resolve the situation, and maintain the strong ties between Singapore and P.R. China -

Do all folks remember a news article on newpaper on a Singaporean girl going to China for exchange programme. She wrote some negative experience on HER PERSONNEL BLOG SPACE. One of her China counterpart copy and paste her comments on a university forum and it caused a ruckus. Oh my, how hypocritical the Chinese are.......... Next time u can't even share a few private moments with them, or they may "stab u from the back". LOL!
Those that are familiar with Chinese military forums/websites will noe how creative they can be in calling other race or countries with racist and degratory slurs!! Now they are expecting us to respect those PDMMS that commit crimes here? How hypocitical!!! -
