Why Ghurkhas guard Ministers' homes, and not local Police?

I notice that the sentries outside our minsiters' home are foreigners, not locals. I wonder why? Is it because:
1) Ministers know that the skills of the local police are inadequate?
2) Ministers can't trust Singaporeans to guard their lives?
3) Ghurkhas are cheaper to hire, and more loyal and skilled than locals?
Any more reasons you can think of? -
"Better to die than be a coward" is the motto of the Gurkhas.
They still carry their traditional weapon - an 18-inch long curved knife known as the kukri.
In times past, it was said that once a kukri was drawn in battle, it had to "taste blood" - if not, its owner had to cut himself before returning it to its sheath.
What will Singapore's policeman do with the kukri if given one? Use for cooking? -

There is a history on why they use Gurkhas as a specialized guard unit.
Many many years ago, there was a racial riot between malays and chinese. And to have a chinese policeman shoot a malay and malay policeman shoot a chinese who evoke further complications in Singapore within the racial groups and even the police force.
The Gurkha are neutral at that point of time. So they became a key essential of SPF specialized guard unit. -
then if their own nepali friends stage a revolt on a certain minister how? join in?

Gurkhas can be ordered to kill Singaporeans, regardless of whether the Singaporeans are civilian, army or police. Their loyalty to their employers is legendary. So they can be counted upon to defend the ministers against a revolt by Singaporeans. Our police and armed forces can protect against external threats but only gurkha can defend the PAP against Singaporeans.
