what do you think of the upcoming IMF meeting being held here in singapore? Pls express your views. Thanks! -

Because of it, almost all the hotel rooms have been fully booked during that period. Where are my clients going to stay?!?!

what makes you think it this way? Though there are some negative thoughts around the world but it might be a good thing. I dun know really. It's drawing nearer and worst of all, I'm being called up for duty!

Actually the Singapore Police has allowed some demonstrations but to the legal limits. It's good also and you can see how it's like. You mean those Korean farmers, those guys do all sorts of crazy stuff to get their point across. I think they might even go to the extend of burning themselves. Who else? There is still the South American Anti-Globalizationist, yeah, the same bunch of guys who whipped a storm in Seattle during the WTO meeting. Of course, idle Singaporeans sitting placidly by having a ball of a time watching the show.

They have been given room inside the convention hall. But no demonstration on the streets...they will be arrested if they break the law.

I feel that hosting the IMF/WB Meetings is an excellent opportunity to showcase Singapore and its financial sector to the world. I'll bet it'll be the first time many of the delegates and guests have been to our island state.

this IMF/world bank meeting would (hopefully) bring in lots of $$. expose singapore to the outside world. i know of some ppl who still thinks that singapore is part of china!

Part of China? Who would think this way? It's a very postive look for this meeting and if this meeting is successful, Singapore will gain more reputation.
