We can always ask for a review of the minimum wage set by the relevant statutory boards.
Actually, everyone is trying for a pay rise. Transport GLCs are upping their fares to continue to give their drivers fat bonuses each year.
I smell inflation setting in...
On a side note, I've worked in the govt sector and the private sector and i'll frankly state that most of the senior staff in GLCs will not last 2 weeks in a highly competitive private enterprise. Their salary packages are overrated and hugely exhorbitent, a waste of a company's dividends.
Sometimes, i do think we treat our own local high-earners too well. The GLCs are truly the places to work if you want a secure and comfortable job.
