The victim had several broken facial bones and will be disfigured for the rest of his life.Originally posted by Where Is God:However, in this case, there are 6 - 8 person who attacked him. Even if the injuries are not severe enough to be considered a criminal act, the 6 - 8 people should also be considered to be holding an illegal gathering.

That is such a crock of crap...Originally posted by Devil1976:This is actually quite a 'standard procedure' in Singapore.... GET USED TO IT...
My brother was assaulted near a neighbourhood Police Post... I think the distance is less than 10 metres away from it... Nowadays they just 'close shop'... Of course I understand they might need to do 'petrol' and all that... The IRONY of it all is that the 7-11 around that corner was still open... I believe the police post has a 'push help' button.. Too bad he just couldn't reach it in time...?
From what I know, when you approach the police and tells them that you've been assaulted... They'll ask if you know the person / people who assaulted you.... If your answer is...
1. You don't know - Their answer would probably be either 'then there's nothing they can do about it' or 'they'll investigate the matter'...
2. You know - It's a civil case. Pls go and sue that person / people.

Not only the police force owes an explanation to singaporeans. The minister of home affair must also explain to the tax payers.Originally posted by Spirit of Fire:The Singapore Police Force better give a proper explanation to every single Singaporeans, but I think no matter how good their explanation is, they have screwed it up big time man. They have betrayed the trust of the people. Bloody hell, probe so much into those harmless protests, 'white elephants', etc. Then when people kenna assualt, simply not interested. What the f_u_c_k?!! What on earth were the policemen thinking man?!!
Bro, you are wasting your time with Toofree. A cow would not understand even if you are playing the best music of the world.Originally posted by fudgester:So what's your point here? That the victim's brother was asking for compensation when he called the police to report the assault?
I'm done with you. You're not worth the effort.
There are other far more intelligent lifeforms out there worth sparring with.![]()
This so called our first world govt with the ministery of home affair having this sort of police!!!Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:I AM DISGUSTED WHEN I SAW THE NEWS. I COULDNT BELIEVE WHAT I SEE. THIS IS A SICK WORLD.
looks like the police only act when:Originally posted by redstone:Tell me what's more serious?
Collecting flag day donations (real, not to cheat) without valid permit. Sell things at fair without proper permit. Putting paper cutouts at public place. Getting beaten with very serious injuries by a gang.
It seems to the police, it's the first 3.![]()
Well.. that's the law. Nothing much the Police officer can do about it.Originally posted by Devil1976:From what I know, when you approach the police and tells them that you've been assaulted... They'll ask if you know the person / people who assaulted you.... If your answer is...

Actually, if there's a group of more than 5 people and they are being noisy, they can be arrested for rioting.Originally posted by Sagara:Btw.. there is no classification such as "Assault".
Examples as follows:
A punch B = Voluntary Causing Hurt ( Civil Case )
A attacks and breaks bones of B = Voluntary Causing Grevious Hurt ( Arrest Case )
If the article suggests that there were 6-7 assailants, the case is then Rioting, an arrest case.
And obviously i do not understand what TooFree is referring to.![]()
If the public didn't complain about them being a nuisance in public, the police won't step in. If not, how on earth can you go for outings with a group (say 10 people) without the police stepping in and warning you?Originally posted by Where Is God:AFAIK, if person A attack person B without use of weapon. Police cannot do anything.
However, if person A attack Person B, without weapon, but severely injure him. Police will step in and take action.

Yeah right... That's why people are complaining Singaporeans are already losing their rights as citizens... We always hear Singaporeans should do now... Singaporeans should do that... But have the gahment really genuinely care and bother about what the people need and the people want...? Or just because they holds the 'mandate' in their hands then they can walk around half-blind to the things happening around them...?Originally posted by Sagara:Well.. that's the law. I slap you and run away. Nothing you can do except sue me.
But when A wacks B in the P.O's presence and refuses to stop, A can be arrested.
As for the white elephants and the 4-person-strike incident, it is quite obvious that the matter was directed at the MIWs. And you know what happens when you mess with MIWs.![]()
I, in fact, do not blame the POs at all as they're merely following instructions from the royal family.![]()
