They fought several wars and face terrorism on a regular basis. In contrast, the only official SAF operation to ever draw blood was the SQ117 hijacking in 1991. -

One of the Singapore defence position's strength is also a weakness. That is dependence on a civilian army. It cannot fight a prolonged war without crippling the economy. At most weeks may be, comments?

they are of the same race, same religion.
i am sure they dont many have foreign talents there.

SAF have not seen blood, neither have our potential enemies. Blood spilled on either side will only increase hatred for one another, it does not make anybody better fighting soldiers.
Lets hope discussions, negotiations, diplomacy or whatever works, and no blood ever need to be spilled. -
I'm willing to. Reasons because I'm low educated ( O lvl ) nia. Holding a low paid and over work job. Living in a 3rm flat ( belongs to my ageing parents ). No car, no dream, no darling, can't afford to buy a air ticket out of sinkapore when war breaks out coz passport impound by ruling party. Give me a rifle anytime anywhere, I'm always ready. ( but make sure its a M16 rifle, me no no SAR21 ).

Gimme a rifle i'll join the attacking country. make a pact with the attacking party that my family will be given a PR in their country and i'll give my loyalty to them lolx..... JK la
but seriously if want me to defend SG i rather try to protect my family. dun think the guys in white are doing enuff for us to make us lose our lives for them. -
who knows myb many of us will negotiate with the other country that if they bring down our cost of living standard we will fight for them instead of defending SG.

There is nothing in singapore that others want!!! We have no gold, no oil, no rice, no wheat, no cows even, they better come up with a good excuse if they want singapore!!!

Their citizen army goes into war ready and willing to sacrifice their lives if necessary.
How many of our 'high and mighty' people would report voluntarily for active duty if war existed?
Sorry, i'm just being frank with my assessment. My own unit men openly whitewash reservist training as time wasted. What more can i say?
