does it work?
My friend happens to be young PAP and does meet the people sessions along his the resident MP. Most of the time, people lament about lack of employment. Alas, when my friend makes an employment offer with his company (its a shipyard), the unemployed person turns scum and complains over distance travelled and safety issues, hot work under the sun, no air-con, no cubicle (obviously never read Dilbert before) and no desk of his own etc etc....Originally posted by FireIce:i have heard ppl going to their MPs to complain about not enough parking space, why son cannot go EM1, write off fines, upstairs hang clothes drip water, downstairs kopitiam ppl chatting very noisy.......

Bah humbug.
If they can afford to be fussy when they remain jobless, then they deserve to remain unemployed. Sometimes, i do wish our MPs could just declare: WE ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN SOLVING [b]REAL PROBLEMS.

What?Originally posted by robertteh:How many of you are interested in debating the MPs or YPAPs on major government policies ?
If given a chance, will you do it?
Just a survey.
I think the examples you quoted is not reflective of the kind of problem that MP might be able to offer genuine help though I believed that MPs will kindly take note of such a problem and deal with them before the problem escalates into a larger society problems.Originally posted by FireIce:i have heard ppl going to their MPs to complain about not enough parking space, why son cannot go EM1, write off fines, upstairs hang clothes drip water, downstairs kopitiam ppl chatting very noisy.......

All those debates or dialogue sessions put out on TV and forums are staged. So we should ask for real no-hold barred debates.Originally posted by gd4u:i wld certainly want to see who has a 'better mouth' or at a similar standard to .... u-know-who ...
MPS is not supposed to help you to solve civil problem.Originally posted by TooFree:I think the examples you quoted is not reflective of the kind of problem that MP might be able to offer genuine help though I believed that MPs will kindly take note of such a problem and deal with them before the problem escalates into a larger society problems.
Society is a cluster where fellow men should learn to live together with tolerance or possibly strive to help one another. We should have the ability to solve family problems ourselves or face up to the offence commited with honesty and possibly learn from it. We should not hope that MP might be able to write them off or play mediator.![]()
