Protests and Freedom of Speech in Singapore

This week there has been a lot of negative publicity around the world about how the Singapore Government has blocked some of the Civil Society groups from coming here. Suntec City is covered with fences and barbed wire, and all of the taxi drivers have been specially trained to not bring 'potential protesters' anywhere near the IMF meetings. All of it is very embarassing.

They had signed the agreement three years ago to allow the Civil Society groups come to singapore.
Now, they banned 28 of them from coming into singapore........the excuse was they are dangerous people for entering into singapore....something like that which i heard over the TV news.
See...how sneaky are they. very good in twisting and turning around with words. -

if they could show or at the very least tell what those pple were going to be banned for i'll be pretty much supportive assuming its things like records of previous incitation in riots or what not -
Anyone involved in violent protests in the past should be banned and deported.
By all means protest all you want as long as you dun interfere with my life and business. But if you break my window, I reserve the right to break your leg! Singapore will become a battle zone of violence and retaliation....it's much neater just to ban them from coming in.

Protest? Protest groups are publicity stunts lah...wan a name for themselves lah.
If you really got good heart wan to help the world, then be like Mother Theresa, Princess Diana or Gandhi...really helping the world saving ppl...without any protest.
If you got a real good cause, no need to lead ppl to create violence of suffering. You shd see ppl who likes mindless violence, using protest as excuse. After ppl die, all just disappearred.
Can we afford to see ppl die or injuried during protest? We saw what happen to other countries when they have protest...nothing acheived...life loss meaniglessly and in vain...in the end no improvement.

They can tell people off to substantiate claims, or their famous term "backup your claims.." while they can just generalize and walk away with it!
What? Mafia-ism???
Respect is a two way traffic!!! They can treat us citizens like that, but they sure are finding out the hard way, that they can't do likewise with international bodies!

In my opinion, I don't believe any protest or demo will be allowed to become even just a little rowdy with the entire home forces there staring at these activists with hard cold eyes encircling them.
