Although CSJ might not be a "tactical" politician,but at least he is a fighter!!!Even sometimes he make mistake,he should also be forgiven.Becoz any person who make whatever "!diotic mistake",if compare to the mistakes that those PAP leaders make,are "nothing" n "no big deal"!!!

Look at it this way, a politician's job is to look into ways and means 2 govern a country, and make it better. Not revelant to you maybe, but its revelant to others and the future generation. How can the government talk about stimulating creativity into the minds of the younger generation when they are the ones whos holding the strings and telling you what you can see or hear and inducing false sense of fear? protest = riot = millions of properties destroyed = collaspe of country? whats the use of tax payers money training for all the 'special task force' units? for show??
What chee has done wrong is peanuts compared to wat the gahmen has done in terms of the image of s'pore and sporeans.

The state media here wants to paint him as a politician despite his own admission that he is an activist because they want to utilise fame by association and related tactics to discredit members of the other political parties in the eyes of the majority, who won't go beyond face value when reading the news.
It's as much a media war as it is a political rivalry of sorts. -
By self-admission, I can be a donkey. But that won't change the fact that I am not. CSJ, whether he admits it or not, and regardless of how he is portrayed in the media, is a politician in every sense of the word. At best, he can be said to be an activist who uses the political system to further his agenda. Also, you put too little faith in Singaporeans. Brainwashed we may be but stupid we're not. Most can distinguish between real politicians like Chiam See Tong from clowns like CSJ, and actual Opposition parties like the SDA from an attention-hungry circus like the SDP has become.
CSJ's antics have discredited no one but the SDP and himself. Though both opposition parties had scandals during the election, it was only SDP who lost out. It did nothing to the progress made by the other parties. -

Liberal International President, Lord Alderdice, has expressed deep dismay at the continued political abuse of power by the Singapore government in its treatment of fellow Liberal Dr Chee Soon Juan of the Singapore Democratic Party, who has been bankrupted through a policy of abuse of the courts to quell legitimate freedom of speech and criticism of the Government.
Lord Alderdice said: ‘This policy, which has also affected other opposition politicians in Singapore and prevented them from communicating actively with colleagues, is intended to intimidate into silence all criticism of an increasingly authoritarian government. Dr Chee has not even been allowed his own choice of lawyer and was not permitted to use the services of Mr Martin Lee QC, an internationally recognised legal authority.
On behalf of the Executive of Liberal International, I urge the Singapore Government to stop these practices of limiting, intimidating and undermining democratic opposition through abuse of the legal system and instead to ensure that Singapore lives up to international standards of justice and democracy.'
Lord Alderdice urged LI member parties and parliamentarians to continue to exert pressure on the Singapore Government by seeking further information on the actions against Dr Chee and his colleagues, by exposing the abuse of the judicial system in Singapore and by doing all possible through their own governments and parliaments as well as international organisations to ensure that Singapore lives up to international standards of justice and democracy.
