A singaporean working in USA, making US$300K+ a yr got tax by 40% still complain USA no good.. Gov not good etc.
Another in New York making US$100K a yr.. housing market damn good then, every transaction make like US$50K still complain %$^%*&.
Another went to Oz, working in Bank for 3yrs making AUD$70K also complain tax damn high. Asian screwing over Asian..
if can government can please 100% of their people.. hey that will be great! if U cannot be liked by everyone.. don't expect others to do the same.. -

Several of the posts here only further strengthens Sardaukar's point that a good part of population educated under the current government is apathetic to issues that beyond one's material needs.
In the current system we were brought up to listen to the Government and not to question or even analyze their actions. As such we tend to adopt a "let others do the thinking for us" approach when it comes to the running of OUR country. -

U can volunteer educate the youth to think, question and act.
U can joint the gov and play politics.. and change from within.. etc..

What do we as youths know? The population only goes "Yes Sir, Yes Sir, 3bags full" Its because our non-confrontational approach to life. And frankly, Chee keeps getting his ass whooped because those who dare stand up are few, the rest there are nothing more then gawkers. You wanna be heard, make yourself heard, you wanna be seen, make yourself seen, but that is only possible if there is a really huge bunch maybe a couple of thousands of you standing in Raffles Place or Orchard Road. But are you willing to risk your career, your family for freedom? Chee went so far as he has nothing left to lose, he is a bankrupt already, unless you tell me that the govt. is gonna send a hit-team to take him out, then yeah. But till then, nope, I think we will just relac jack for awhile. However, I can forsee this, that those born post 1985, you will be expecting to see big changes in our society. Really big changes.
