If service standard is good and they make better profit due to better efficiency would you make a noise?Originally posted by nismoS132:i don't think the problem here is bus capacity or frequency, but the fact that they keep raising prices, stating that operating costs have gone up, and yet their profits keep rising. there isn't a good reason to raise prices until they start bleeding, and even then after all these years of good profits, it's plain respect to bleed a little for the people that've been giving you a daily feast.
and don't try arguing that our transport fees are lower than other countries, standards of living are different.
But they insist MRT to replace busesOriginally posted by qpicanto:Feeder services buses likely to stay, no new announcment on new LRTs other than one in Jurong. Still trains cannot replace the buses but they save in being driverless.

The transfer is one thing that make the new monthly bus pass not attractive. If fact one can hardly avoid the train. when u only travel in buses for short distances to work and incur under $98 to buy the ticket. but weekend go town how.?Originally posted by sbst275:But they insist MRT to replace buses
It's creating more burden from making more bus - MRT - bus transfer
That's why that $98 maybe if not popular they going to do something, cos only Express buses excluded, the ChinaTown Direct sv is included thoughOriginally posted by qpicanto:The transfer is one thing that make the new monthly bus pass not attractive. If fact one can hardly avoid the train. when u only travel in buses for short distances to work and incur under $98 to buy the ticket. but weekend go town how.?
Buses are more effective transport when used in shorter and direct routes???
Its a western concept. Trains never convenient to jump to North South destination from East-west. Circle line is to solve this problem??or can it??Originally posted by sbst275:That's why that $98 maybe if not popular they going to do something, cos only Express buses excluded, the ChinaTown Direct sv is included though
Not necessary... Like say from Bedok - Woodlands via SBS Sv 168, it takes abt 1 hr, but take train takes abt 80 mins
Circle Line wun, the only thing it can do is to reduce the dependency for transfer at City Hall, Raffles Place, Outram Park & Dhoby Ghaut, but new problems will ariseOriginally posted by qpicanto:Its a western concept. Buses should have more independent route to compete with the trains. Ideally from different operators?? Feasible??
They TV should not show case it like a defray of raising fare when its a new product by the bus co.
Buses should have independent routes not exactly parallel to trains but not so convoluted like now to avoid the trains!!!Originally posted by sbst275:As for deray they can say what they want, really...
