ERP is not going to reduce traffic...what's next?

Since ERP cannot help much to regulate the traffic condition, what other $-making ideas will they come up with?

Outsource the traffic police work, send out more writs and summons, drivers will get so frustrated, they won't want to drive out so often anymore.

Well this is your lot in life sillyporeans....no point complaining, like someone said in teh papers, its a vicious cycle.....when erp does its job, more COEs are released, then when there are too many cars, erp goes up again....the COEs are reduced, erps come down....COEs increase....erp goes up...
YOu all tell me, when will it ever end??? not in the next 10-20 years or so...

ERP and COE go hand in hand....let's face it, several things in sillypore are constants....kiasuism, bad habits, save face...study study study, paper only society....small land mass, limited everything....

the only thing that's sure in this era of uncertainties is that cost of living will definately increase here
Traffic woes is a situation whereby every developed city will face. Why control until so tied. After all they are just focused on getting money .
i say drop the ERP and COE. Flood the streets with cars.
more cars equal more people speeding/illegal parking etc = more tickets
and as the streets get even more jam, people will start to realise the situation and perhaps get around imore in public transport. -
ERP charges go up to encourage more people to take public transport.
But then, public transport fares also go up just because 'the economy is getting better'. No better reason aside from making more profits out of their already-rising profits.
So I suppose I should start walking 20km to school then. -

The public Transport council will give the green light to everyone to increase fare prices......look what happened to mr brown.....cost of living is only going to go up...he was just stating the truth and see what happens to him...

PRC and INdia will come here and make money and then leave...PR is enough, don't have to serve NS...do you think they are so stupid....think they are smarter than us....just look at how vibrant China is now, so much hunger and determination to do well and succeed...don't ever underestimate China...just look at your forefathers....
The only thing now is that the current generation has gone fat and lazy, not that the current generation does not work, they do work but compared to the hungry PRCs, I think they complain less and work harder.....
Here people negotiate for better benefits and complain about low pay, when I was in China, they all say, just give me a job and I will accept without complaints.
Only people that will suffer here are those that are stuck here....many of us are packing our bags man -

You just do a count of how many have come in sillypore and how many have left(as stated recently in newspaper articles). This goes to show why sillypore is so secretive about migration statistics....Other countries are so open about migration statistics but this is another example of how kiasu sillypore is..
We all that have left have no delusions about working harder than we ever have and that is what makes up succeed over there...those that are in business will know how to survive anywhere....
You just have to consider carefully if sillypore is where you want to continue to bear all the daily grind or somewhere else where you still have to bear the daily grind but the medical coverage is so much more, there are mountains and lakes and an even more multi-racial mix to interact with...
C'mon, sillypore always talks about multi racial mix but it only consists of Chinese, Malay, Indians and minorities....yes we are still know as minorities here....
Take a look at places like Melbourne and Vancouver. Asian outnumber the whites there and there is no minorities...there are equal numbers of Chinese, Malays, Indians, Pakistanis, Iranians, Indonesians, Japanese, Koreans, eastern europeans, russians, Taiwanese, PRCs, Africans.....so on and so on...

Hehehe, what about this ultimate idea....every vehicle is tracked in such a way that whichever stretch of road you travel on, there will be a cost...some roads will cost more than others, obviously....
End of the month, LTA will bill you on the amount owed due to the roads you have traveled on for that month....cooooooool....I'd like that idea for sillyporeans
Then you can pay that bill just like any other bill at your SAM machine....

Singapore is very crowded. Everything want fast fast.People here are busy.Transport is essential..
You see Shenton Way. Human traffic is very heavy.
We shall follow China and Netherland to ride on bicycles. We can ride bicycle to school and work, anyway we are so small of about 42km wide and 25km long as compared to other huge cities.
If we use bicycle, we can save on ERP and public transport. We will feel relax and dont bother to be late since we use bicycle to save cost. No need to concern about company productivity, most important is to save ourselves from ERP and public transport.
