MStanley fires this Andy lah.no need sg to hint or ask them to do.
He has crossed the line.
2.pl post Andy Xie report of sg's manufacturing doom day.
we should read it carefully to avoid any genuine pitfalls.
3.
SingaporeÂ’s future is still tied to Indonesia:
Political uncertainty in Indonesia has undermined investor confidence in the country, depressing its growth. SingaporeÂ’s value depends on IndonesiaÂ’s growth rate.
---August 2, 2004,Andy Xie.
i cant find any agrument for the above.
4.but his colleague dunt agree.i find agruement more convincing.
pl analysis based on agruments presented.never based on persons.
I disagree with Andy XieÂ’s comment that SingaporeÂ’s future
is tied to Indonesia and that both Hong Kong and
Singapore face generic trouble. I believe SingaporeÂ’s
value is not tied that closely to Indonesia.

The manufacturing links with Indonesia are
not exceptionally strong as manufacturing investment
commitment originating from Indonesia accounted for less
than 3.2% of the total secured by Singapore in 2003.
While Indonesia is indeed an important trading partner to
Singapore, its importance is often exaggerated. I believe
cross-border trade with Indonesia does not constitute more
than 7% or 8% of SingaporeÂ’s total trade.
In terms of broader investment, SingaporeÂ’s direct
investment in Indonesia in 2002 was S$8.13 billion
(US$4.73 billion) whereas IndonesiaÂ’s direct investment in
Singapore was only US$3.58 billion. They account for
5.5% and 2.6% of their respective accumulated FDI stocks.
