Unless we require Singaporean females to serve NS as well, the only FTs who will serve will be men. That will be a disincentive to them and many would head towards Europe for citizenship. The only FTs we will get as citizens will be PDMMs. -
FT shld serve NS. Like it or nt. Want to stay in our land must also learn to protect it.

There is no issue.. If they are not citizens, then why should they server NS. They are only here for the paycheck and thats it. They have no loyalty. They will leave Singapore the moment they are offered a better pay in another country.
These are the kinds of people the gahmen are hoping to attract, rather than nuture and grow our own citizens. I suppose they think we all cannot make it.
It is interesting to note that if you hold a post-graduate qualification in a Singapore University, you will never amount to a high position in the university hierachy. The system itself has no faith in itself and expect to rise to be equal of other countries top unis. -

FTs are not 18 years old. Do you expect old men in their late 30s to 40s running around and doing all the physicals with young Singaporeans?

Furthermore, most of them are using sg as a stepping stone to other western countries. So the issue of NS is irrelevent to them -

i think the info. may not be correct.

The policy on second generation PR still the same as they required to serve NS. It should not be changed.
I also served NS as a PR but I still had not served my reservist. -
