will it be better to have yr son born as a johorean...come to singapore to study...and when it is time to serve NS, go overseas to study.
after graduating, come back to singapore to become a foreign talent...PR, then citizen...

I have no objection with making FTs serve some form of NS appropriate to their age, in the event that they wish to take up Singapore citizenship. But that will not apply to female PDMMs who wish to be citizens, unless we make it compulsory for our women to serve NS as well. -

Why shld they serve NS? They are not born here. Why make them do something that they are bad at as a way to contribute to Singapore. Furthermore they may sell out military secrets. Just tax them more. The revenue cld be used to help fellow Singaporeans in need.

They should not serve NS merely because they work here. Immigrants, should serve NS, not just their children. What's stopping the govt from introducing a pro-rated NS for them, perhaps under 2PDF. It can be weekend reserve training and induction.
If the Americans and Australians can introduce a weekend NG/Territorial Army style of low-intensity training, we should be able to run similar systems. The only difference is the goal and the originating factor.
Employment pass holders and those on work permits, nope. -
