When Johor fishermen are catching less fishes around its coast, they point a finger at Singapore's reclamtion works. When there are decling mumber of ships calling at its ports around Johor's coast, they again point a finger at Singapore's reclamation work. When their coastal region get eroded, they blame the strong current on Singapore reclamation! Next when more area around JB get flooded, they will still put the blame on Singapore's reclamation works............
The land area of the red dot has increased over the years, that is the main reason causing the red eye epidemic around the Malay Archipelago. Dr M had colluded with the blind man not to sell Singapore sand while he was in KL a couple of years back. Even the comical cartoonist Lat has painted a picture of the red dot expanding and Malaysia shrinking if not sinking!
Remember when the ringgit was under tremendous pressure, Malaysia has pointed a finger at Singapore Banks for its calamity, blame CLOB for its stock market meltdown!
Well, when more ports around Johor coast were built, PSA gets affected, Singaporeans get affected yet Singapore faces it gentlemanly and squarely. We never utter a word of blame, we look beyond our shore for a living!
Malaysian Malays talked about sensitivities each time they have problems with their pocket, could any psychologist enlightens our readers whether it's true that only they are sensitive and others are all thick skin?
we have oredi lost 2 major contracts to the new port in m'sia..
(reason: their port tax and rates were 1/2 of Singpore's)
they mus be real happy about it...
but they still want to complain...

While they always claim that we have been "arrogant" and "dismisive" of our neighbours, they seem to be highly critical and interferring abt anything and everything we do.
Now that PTP is up, anything that can be in one way or another linked to "unfair" or "unethical" competition would be deemed inappropriate for them and thus worthy of complaint.
Hence they conveniently and unscrupulously link our land reclamation to their port and assume agreived status, cunningly manoeuvring the debacle to gain sympathy from the public.
Oh, Indonesia WILL be building 3 ports around Singapore. The M'sians can save some money on port building.
The recent maritime demographics sure looks very, very interesting...
At no point of this region's history has so many contending ports existed alongside each other... they usually existed one at a time, when trade routes grew in, and out of fashion or some maniac decided to wipe his competitors off the map =P
One for the history book...

sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.
