I think this stems from the fact that our gov doesn't want people to turn to them for help hence, these channels are obscured.
But things such as paying your Income Tax, they can advertise very widely on how you can submit your Returns online with Pin numbers and all.

Whilst working with one of the family service centres, I have come across families who refuse or do not qualify for assistance. For example, if the husband is able to work but refuses to accept any jobs offered to him, it is difficult to get the family on various benefit schemes. People must also be willing to help themselves.
But it is time for grassroots organization to consider how to make sure such cases do not fall through the net. Instead of complaining against the government, forumnites might do better as volunteers, going around poor HDB estates and disseminating information about various self-help schemes that are available. -
Why should anyone give fish to the man who refuses to fish for himself? Trainees at ITE programmes are given a salary whilst they train for a job. It is sure better than being unemployed and walking the streets. According 2 the deceased's wife that the deceased had gone to a coffee shop nereby wanted to be a cleaner but there is no vacancy which believed to be taken away by the FWs. In addition,they hve been to the CDC 4 help as they were unable to pay the elect n water bills but insteading of rendering assistance they were turned down n were advised to install PAY when Use Meter instead.
