In the east there lies a little red dot,
A one-man-one-vote democracy,
Where Men of wisdom were elected by citizens
As stewards against injustices and inequity,
To serve the people with humility,
Sadly human nature is ever so frail
Before election promises were made,
Jobs, jobs, jobs, swiss standards of living,
Asset enhancements and plenty,
But after election victories
Men became haughty and cocky,
Conceited with self-proclaimed ability
Ever clamouring for the highest salaries,
Benchmarked not against wage or remuneration category,
But hankering after the capitalist bosses in industry,
As if they own all dtocks and citizens' monies,
Not satisfied with one-man-one-vote democracy,
Men began to tweak the demoracy,
By making democracy look like villainy,
So as to curb all freedoms of speech and rally
So that the overpaid servants become the bosses,
So that they could demand greater mandate,
To change all the electoral process with GRC
Change the electoral boundaries
To ensure no contests,
Not happy with criticism on accountability,
Sued opponents for innuendos in election speeches,
Called them liars and dare them to sue
In leaders' own court of justice,
Leaders claim to be corruption free,
Yet they could pass their own salaries,
Yet they could use citizens' monies to buy votes,
In exchange for lift upgrading or conservancy,
Citizens cannot make ends meet,
Due to all manner of fee increases,
Double charge on land already paid,
Triple charges on vehicle after excise and COE,
Little red dot as is destined to be,
A tight-fisted one-party rule,
Where People serve the rulers,
Not leaders the people,
Where leaders will tell its people,
They alone know what is good,
For they are great talent with vision,
With NKF creative accountability,
Defamation suit will ensure law and order,
Even Citizens of the world from IMF
Will have to learn a thing or two,
Like how Wages of citizens once rose
Only fell like a pack of card to misery,
While cost of living also rose from third to first world,
To sustain noble surpluses or shin corp deal,
Should there be a little red dot of discontent,
The leaders will quickly turn the blames on citizens,
For lack of self-reliance or skills,
For Rulers know best not for want of service,
But People are forever grousers,
Sadly the red dot has traded liberties,
And sacrifices for leaders' own power and glories,
Paying them the highest salaries,
Supposedly to rid of corruption,
At the end it is only as the old adage says,
"Absolute power corrupts absolutely"
Citizens of the world,
If you want bread for liberties,
You have to trade democracy for apathy,
For the One-man-one-vote choice,
Or shut up on progress and democracy.
