You spend far too much:
Transport: More than $10 a day? Take bus or MRT. Even if you stay far away from your workplace, you shouldn't have to spend more than $5 a day on transport. In fact, if you live far away, you might consider getting the new monthly pass that allows unlimited travel on buses.
Incidentally, my colleague spends 1.5 hours each way on the train everyday, commuting between her home and our lab. Yet she arrives promptly at 9am and leaves at 5.30pm.
Food: What do you eat that's so expensive? You can get a very decent meal at a hawker centre for less than $5. So for two meals outside a day, you should not spend more than $10 a day and at most $300 a month.
Utilities: Your expenses obviously depend on what sort of appliances you have at home and your lifestyle. But if you work long hours and not at home most of the time, your utility bill should not be so high. You can limit your expenses on phone and internet bills by using a pre-paid phone card and a cheaper contract. Use sms to communicate rather than your mobile.
Medical bills: If you need to spend $300 on medical bills each month for your parents, they must have a serious chronic disease. Polyclinic treatment should not cost so much, even with standard medication included. If it is indeed true that you are spending $300 a month on medical bills for your parents, you would be better off buying a comprehensive medical insurance policy plan, which will cost less.
