Hey dude, why get all worked up? Hardship builds a man, real power and influence builds nations and destroys economies. Petty things like GEP and RJC-hood are meant to tickle one's funny bone.Originally posted by Coquitlam:C'mon....we all know the facts of life. LIfe ain't hard here and we know but to rub salt to already open wounds and for DAD to agree with DAUGHTER"S BASIC CONCEPT?!?!?!? Get Real...
So I guess we all have to subscribe to the basic concept??? HEAR YE HEAR YE....this is one more reason why we should all leave this little red dot while we can....
Personally, I can tolerate imperfections in other countries so long as they are open about it. Don't I get this feeling that things here are a little too perfect for my liking....Just peel away the veneer of the social fabric and see what we get...Don't we all already know it...let them rule the incoming migrants from INdia and PRC. Let's see how future Wee SHu Mins cope with them as from business dealing, they will not be such a gullible bunch...In fact they will bite back cause they have seen the hardships of life in CHINA AND INDIA...let's wait and see after we all have migrated to other lands.
Bottomline is parental upbringing has failed and yet he still wants to justify and pass the buck...now that is worse than the daughter's crime itself
if if makes you happier, there are people whom many would deem as "elites" but are quite disgusted with the system because they have moved on to more pressing issues like the lack of an open society and strong insititutional democracy rather than the new Starbucks menu or what range of Manolo Blahniks is being launched now.Originally posted by Coquitlam:Yeah man lazer...just venting some frustration this Hari Raya...Here's wishing you and all of you out there a very good Hari Raya..
Nice to let go of some steam once a while man...partly because people like me worked hard and did well through business...much tougher doing business you know....and to think we have some young upstart with a powerful father...
Oh heck...anyway, have packed up my bags long ago and am smiling on the other side of the continent like so many of up ex-sillyporeans....

Testing the S'pore family
“ FAMILY means nobody gets left behind … or forgotten,” is an inspiring and powerful statement on family I came across some time back. It emphasises both the privilege and responsibility of being part of a family. It is certainly not easy to live up to. [b]How tempting, how convenient to ignore the weak and the needy lest they slow us down.
