I put it this wayOriginally posted by 4getmenot:did u ever think there would still be a review of this case once ah how is hanged? and if there was a proven evidence of doubt, do you think it will ever surface to the public once the hanging has being over? i highly doubt so.
Precisely, and that doubt wasn't just a bit off the other two's decisions.Originally posted by sbst275:Something isn't right either at the Appeals Court
Here it goes by majority.. However, 1 judge had cast his doubt..
Who's going to take the responsibility if the doubt proved to be true?
There will always be people who disagree with the outcome of a trial. The fact is that due process was followed and Took had been given a fair trial. Justice has been seen to be done. If justice means everyone in the country must agree with a verdict, there will never be justice. It is precisely because disagreements are expected to occur that the constitution of the Appeal Court is always an odd number of judges, so that there will always be a majority verdict.Originally posted by LazerLordz:If justice was also seen to be done, why are there so many doubters out there? You cannot wish them all away.
You sound very confident and have full faith in the judgement passed, I cannot do so. however due to the lack of visible justice in my eyes that has been carried out. What has happened is a conviction passed down based on circumstantial evidence which is not solely limited to accused's actions. You are entitled to your opinion. Many others hold a different opinion. In fact, some forumners feel that the legal process had been 'too generous' to him, allowing his defence team to suddenly bring in evidence of a psychiatric illness late in the trial.
Forensics show the evidence of physical harm, it does not reveal the motive nor prove beyond reasonable doubt that Took was the sole accused, or whether he was merely present. Not only did the DNA evidence prove Took's presence at the crime scene, he left his fingerprints on the tape used to tie Huang Na up. The forensic evidence is overwhelming. Took murdered Huang Na and deserved to hang many times over.
I do not know all the facts admittedly, but if we are to look into the motive of the whole case, the mother is very much suspect in her behavior and I am still of the opinion that Took must not be hanged until Huang Na's mother's innocence is proven openly in a convincing manner.Huang Na's mother is certainly no saint but she did not murder Huang Na. Took Ah Hao did and that's clear as crystal. It will be a travesty of justice to ignore the overwhelming forensic evidence and deny Huang Na the justice she deserves.
should be castrated b4 hangingOriginally posted by dragg:anyone here has any doubts about his guilt?
sexual assault and murder of childOriginally posted by oxford mushroom:You may disagree with the death penalty but many Singaporeans are in favour of it, especially in heinous crimes like child murder.
ah hao has nowhere to go...Originally posted by shirurinu:Actually I do.... Cause if i'm really guilty of killing the girl, You kill me in Malaysia I also don't want to come back lo. How would I listen to the father and surrender myself to the police.
And as a mother, I would never leave my daughter alone in Singapore to go back China. And even if she had urgent matters and had to go, as a mother i
would find someone trustworthy like a female friend to take care of her and stay at her house instead letting her wander at the place where i work when i'm not around isn't it?
It doesn't makes any sense in the mother's doing in any way.
Ah How admitted to sexually assaulting her.Originally posted by Tosugan:This is so far the first case in Singapore whereby the motive behind the entire murdering scene was not disclosed to the public. There are evidences but there is no motive. How can that be? Anyway once that fella being hanged, the case will be closed. "IF" there are really more than meets the eyes, no one will be able to find out anymore. Are our court really putting the right man on the death rope this time? I do felt sad for that little girl, but at the same time i really like to know the motive why someone would want to murder her.

Just think for a moment. If I go to your house daily, won't my DNA be there? This is a ploy to smokescreen that they got evidence. CSI SG style.Originally posted by oxford mushroom:The DNA evidence is overwhelming. Don't blame PRC for what Ah How did merely because you have a bias against PRCs.
if he admitted to the sexual assault then we have a motive.Originally posted by PoRen:Ah How admitted to sexually assaulting her.
tats ur assumption.Originally posted by dragg:if he admitted to the sexual assault then we have a motive.
the murder was to silence her.
You mean you know all the facts? Or you just swallow everything you read in the papers. In US Law, if there is a minute doubt, the case is thrown out. SG different. Once you are caught, you have to prove your innocence.Originally posted by PoRen:The doubters dunno the facts.
yup. US is u r innocent until proven guilty, sg is u r guilty until proven innocent.Originally posted by highway69:You mean you know all the facts? I don't think u can blame these people for bashing certain countries. Not only China, but bangalas also get bashed too. The thing is, it is becoming more and more common these days to open ur newspaper, read that a crime has been committed, and more often than not, it is people from a certain country. So, u cannot blame them for being wary. Singapore is an multi-cultural society. We can live with all types of people, but if their culture clashes with ours, or they continue their bad habits here (such as spitting everywhere and anywhere), then some of us here goes to war against themOriginally posted by dreameryb:Precisely, well said. Some people here almost have a fetish for China-bashing, no matter what the topic is. Could anyone do a psychoanalysis of why this is the case?
Which of these facts show she murdered her daughter?Originally posted by highway69Just think for a moment. If I go to your house daily, won't my DNA be there?
Not under my fingernails, I think not..
And your fingerprints are probably not on the taoe used to tie up Huang Na. If they are, then Took should be relesaed and you hanged instead.
And I am not bias.Merely stating facts. She is after all a PRC national.
1) Came here without proper travel documents/overstayed.
2) Came here without proper employment with kid in tow.
3) No parental responsibility towards her own daughter.
