Took, 24, a Malaysian who worked here as a vegetable packer, had been condemned to hang for killing eight-year-old China national Huang Na in October 2004 at the Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre.
Her disappearance had sparked a massive search by police and volunteers, until Took gave himself up to the police after fleeing Singapore.
He then led officers to Huang Na's body.
His plea for clemency was rejected by President S R Nathan, on the advice of the Cabinet.
The decision brings to a close a dramatic case that has gripped Singaporeans for the past two years.
Took's family had started a campaign to save him from the gallows, collecting 34,000 signatures to support his clemency petition. -- AFP

Right, there are those who fit the bill. No matter whether Took Leng How murdered Huang Na it is not an issue anymore since Took Leng How have been hanged.
However I still stand to my belief that Took Leng How, although not totally innocent to the case, are not liable to be sentenced to death. -
