SRS was used/consumed by paying PAP Kindergarden (and is the most affordable available) school fees. Heck, the little lad have not even entered PRIMARY SCHOOL!Originally posted by Not4rent:not feasible. the returns are not immediate unlike giving our singapore shares and ERS
Did I say 10 million? Not all will have 4 children like me. But we need a 2.1 ratio, at least!Originally posted by the Bear:so, to support the next lot of aging population, we have 10 million people in singapore?
Thanks, you are saying it will have a BIG impact and will work! Thanks!Originally posted by the Bear:so, to support the next lot of aging population, we have 10 million people in singapore?

Free this must up something. If you don't up tax, then what do you to suggest to increase?
I am proposing to solve a long term problem. Since not having enough babies are causing so much loss of $$$ and social related issues which in terms costs $$$, by solving this, there will be a BIG BIG PROFIT in the end!Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Tax who pay first?

Cannot. Whatever proposed solution cannot add any pressure to social related issues (single and young parent etc). Remember, the family is the basic building block of any society.Originally posted by ditzy:Banish abortion.![]()

Look at USA. Their biggest cost is social problem, not military spending or defence budget.
We need to lower the cost of bring up children and education is one of the big piece, if not, the biggest.
I think you don't realise the exact meaning and impact of a country population replacement ratio. We are talking about social related issue if birth rate stays this way.Originally posted by the Bear:then you doom your children..
seriously...
doesn't anyone read the science papers? or watch the documentaries?
we run out of resources in a generation if we keep up our population growth...
then, read about Easter Island... only, that will happen on a global scale..
10 million.. because when it was 2 million, they said 2.5.. when 2.5 was reached, it was 4.. next would be 6... how long was it when we were 2.5 million people in singapore?
when your children probably reach the age of majority, they may be looking at 10 million or more..
