Protest against cost rise?

Should we protest to the government that our daily cost has risen? I know there's some things can be cut down by its cost. Like the taxi fares, towards city fares can BE reduced. Like taxi fares, other things can be reduced too. If u noticed, some of the things sold in singapore, does it cost too much (when it doesn't really that much)?

To stage an outdoor protest, please remember to apply for permit from the police, otherwise it will be deemed an illegal gathering if there are more than 4 people.

Best solution is to leave like what many of us have done..There will be costs everywhere but at least what we earn is much more....

Yup I know and recognize that....there are those that cannot get out even if they want to and for that...there are some of us who would try to get them over....bear in mind that if sillypore can get FTs in, don't forget that we also can get FTs into overseas places as well as overseas places are also suffering for labor shortage

You're seriously not familiar with Singapore's culture. Protest is unofficially not allowed. All the past protests, as far as I recall, all ended with protestors suffering.
It cannot be done.
Then again, why protest against cost rise? It's part of inflation, you should protest against other more meaningful issues such as job security, social welfare (if there's any), or elitism (See Wee-Wee incident). -

Inflation is the increase in the general price level, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI). A basket of goods is used to compare annual changes in the index, which usually contains a number of the most commonly bought food and household items. Hence, when the price of these goods increase (e.g. increase in the price of bananas in Australia due to Cyclone Larry), among other things, the CPI increase.

Yes, we should.
And you all must be prepared to be charged in court and fined for unlawful assembly when you do this.
If there is a lot of us who are willing to do this, more people will follow.

Why get yourself into deeper trouble by setting up a different protest, when CSJ and his SDP is already making enough ruckus to give the Government ?
CSJ had confronted this issue but failed miserably when his published figures were not carefully vetted by anyone skillfull enough with statistics, and was demolished by George Yeo in a public debate.
Since 1993, the Cost of Living has been a major simmering issue amongst Singaporeans, and no one seems to be able to put his finger on the issue, as the daily propaganda machinery continued with the 'feel good atmosphere' in support of the Government.
If there had been permit allowing for demonstrations to protest on the same scale as the Koreans, Taiwanese and Hongkongers, Singaporeans will probably have a political voice to voice loudly against the huge profits of Government Linked Companies being given additonal leeway to increase their pricing for public services.
It is obscene that when those public services were operated by Private Enterprise (in the 1970s), there were government objections to allow these Private Enterprises to increase their pricing; and yet these Government Linked Companies providing the same services are continuously having their price structure reviewed on an upward basis.
Perhaps it will be more effective - and safer for most Singaporeans to support CSJ and his SDP, or even LTK and the WP - by providing them with information, statistics, and relevant data so as to allow them to be more effective in their role to confront the Government, who has been elected by less than 44% of the Singapore population involved in the election process.
