Employment rose in manufacturing (11,300), continuing the uptrend that started in late 2003.
Dominated once again by M'sians. How many to S'poreans?
Amid a pickup in building activities, construction increased its workforce (5,500) for the 7th consecutive quarter.
Dominated by Bangalas.

If OM can survive with just $1,100 a month, when he is out of job, then maybe he would jump up to the offer lor. Oh, I forgot. A shining path have been paved to our PhD student, so I doubt that he (I assume) needs to worry about that.Originally posted by Rock^Star:Service and manufacturing - $1,100 a month. U want? Construction costs have always hit sky-high, towkays would prefer bangalas anytime.

After sifting through the ST for so many years, its easier to separate the facts from propaganda.
I wonder why there's a constant need to 'reassure' singaporeans that all the policies implemented by the govt 'for the people' are working? Job creation by govt? 650,000 passenger volume = budget terminal success? More satisfied with bus services?
These things i tend to forget overnight.
Here's a collection of quotes from ministers over the years that i DO remember over the years:

read it carefully.Originally posted by Medicated Oil:The thread starter have to re-phrase the title.
More people are employed.
Not singaporeans.
Singaporeans too elite to be fooled by another "figure".
Either way it's sloppy phrasing. There may be more jobs available in Singapore, but nowhere does the article say that said jobs were created for Singaporeans.Originally posted by precipice:read it carefully.
created for singaporeans do not necessarily mean taken by singaporeans.
it could mean, "more jobs created for singaporeans but mostly taken by FTs."
X2Originally posted by Meilin86:Sometimes I find out that the employer lists out a lot of high requirements out of the candidates for that job on either newspaper or online job portal.
As seem we have to be ELITE stuffs to apply for for that job.
Even for some temporary or contract jobs, it says you have to be Excellent in this, Excellent in that. You need to have years of experiences to apply the job. No one give me a job, where to have experience??
I feel that Employer are too much, we are no superman. Everything must be excellent and proficient. There is no such thing as perfect employee.![]()
