Saw a very interesting event yesterday as I was driving down Geyland toward PIE. A malay guy in a green mini-van swerve right into the land of a silver pickup and the malay guy (looks like in his 20s) came out of the car with a police batton and demanded the other guy (chinese in his 40s) for a fight. The guys refused to come out and the malay guy only left the scene after the bus and other cars kept honking at him.
Q) How did that guy get a police batton? Was he an ex-police NS?
Q) If he is, then he should know the law. Why is he doing this?
I took out my phone and tried to catch a few pictures of him waving his batton but he caught sight of me and I quickly kept my phone away.
So scary. -
i saw a young man and an old man quarrelling at the car park over a minor accident.
the young kept yelling, "what do you want?". whatever the old man replied he will yelled, "what do you want?". he was yelling so loud a lot of people from the surrounding blocks were looking down from their windows.
knn, this type of lanjiao people. he got away by browbeating the old man.

Beating someone up is known and an assault. If the other party got hurt then he could be charge with Voluntary Causing Hurt (VCH) in short. Fine 1000 or Jail not 6 months. IF the other party badly injured like broken arms legs.. then is VCGH (grevious hurt) then heavier sentence and possibly canning.
If someone saw the person using a chair or bottle then it becomes VCGH with weapons then it becomes more and more heavier.
Create commotion in public, can be charge for breach of public peace. fine or jail not exceeding 7 days. -

It's easy to use stress as an excuse during heated confrontations.
In the case of the bus battering, i'm not surprised fellow commuters did nothing to help. With our apathetic response to politics, one can only surmise that it would extend to other cultural backgrounds. -

A young doctor once got beaten up, the police refuse to investigate and aprehend the assailants, even when the assailants were identified.
The doctor was told to take civil action and sue the assailants.
The police considered the assault a private matter.
They only took action when the doctor complained to the police higher ranks and wrote to the papers.
There are many fighting cases, where the police arrive and warn the combatants to stop and not create more ruckus, or else they will arrest them, for disobeying a police officer!
