Frankly, I was caught offguard by it but then after some quick thought, you do kinda expect something like this will be pulled out of the rabbit's hat.
Again, this is another classic case of whatever what the PM want to do and the idea needs money, the money will come from the people. Reserves are always there for that "rainy day". *shakes head*
And whatever the PM want to do, it will be done no matter how vocal and disagreeing are the people on the streets.
Is it because I am getting more aware of things now or is the goverment so daring nowadays, that I feel that the government likes to carry out their unpopular policies without any hint of embarrasment? IRs, transport fares, relaxation of FT emigration, GST.....All this for the good of the Singapore elite?
Oh boy, I am very disenchanted once again. Sigh, I do not have money to go anywhere else. Maybe one day, when I can swipe a couple of peanuts from Singapore Pools, then I will look elsewhere to rest my roots.
