i admit. i voted PAP. Aljunied GRC. its the biggest regret of my life.

I would have supported PAP before 9 August 1965 but not after that.

This kind of thing don't need to regret la. Vote then vote lor, the most next time wisen up and make a better decision, that's if you have the chance to.

Most of these who vote for only think of their rice bowl and business even they know there will be increase in cost of living. They can tell u opposition no standard how to vote!

Actually, I got a feeling, we will still be the same..most young Singaporeans are mostly influenced by the PAP already. Look at all the textbooks, all put PAP good, PAP lead well.
My 2 sisters who are over 21 also die die want to vote for PAP =.=. -
People in Singapore cannot think... they have been brain washed since young. It is in the textbook, history book and in all media. Singapore is just marginally better than a communist ran country, but even then soon China will surpass Singapore in terms of freedom.
I understand that it is not easy to have a fully democratic society in Asian countries. Asians unlike the westerners are used to being ruled by autocracy leaders if not dictatorship. However, as the societies mature and so are the people more affluent in the western values, people will start to demand democracy in their countries.
Sadly, people in Singapore do not see that. They (most of them) are just apathy to freedom and the notion of equality. Singapore society typifies George Orwell's "Animal Farm"... and guess what there will be no sympathy from the rest of the world because you guys are just to gutless to change. All you forumers can talk but when it comes to action (voting time), many of you guys just vote PAP!...
So, guess what do you get, higher GST, public transport fares, etc.... serve you right! -
You all bo chi.. Complain but never organise rally to protest.
You know why? 5% or 7% or 10%, you all are still comfortable. Doesn't affect you significantly. You will just carry on your lifestyle with little change. -

It's not the PAP charmed me but it's SDP that disappointed me.
I attended SDP's rally, they were beating around the bush, never once did they talk of a good suggestion.
Attending their rally is like, attending an anti-government's talk. What's more, they break their boring talk into sections and with the classical ending like an old chinese novel, to know how the story develop, please tune in next time (yu4 zhi1 ju4 qing2 fa1 zhan3, qing3 ting1 xia4 hui2 fen1 jie4), I rather choose lesser of the two evil. -

in the first place, i do not think all in the cabinet is now happy with LHL's leadership.. there are many more that is more capable than him. LHL will not be in his position if not of his father...

I voted for PAP. I admit. I regretted, but in my mind I was thinking... since I'm within AMK GRC, how many people will ever vote for opposition? It's quite pro-PAP at my place lor.

one day i will stop Sg from pulling my nose, if maybe not by voting, then it will be by some and many other ways. E.g. become non-interested in politics, isolate from the civil bodies, find another corner in Sg with more life.
the Sg style of governing is dead non-creative, and by making 7, they made citizens less resourceful now. Take away this, take away that, and now take away another 2%, not for entertainment or luxury, but for paying the basics like food, water, clothes and transport.
Sg will profile the low-income, making sure the non-resourceful ones who get helped are not able to get anymore more resourceful in their lives, then they get helped. After being helped, they are still as non-resourceful and as helpless, because the cost of living is stripping away their resoucefulness. And if you are resourceful enough, no help sorry.
In precis, if you take money from somewhere to calm the dissents, and nothing is done to help people to be more resourceful, this is uncreative. But if you let people live in a more free land with a consistent cost, even without helping, more good-wills will bestowed by fellow-man onto another fellow-man. And if you really can help, this is creative.
I loathe the fact that i cannot find a place under my feet in Sg that makes me feel i am a free man. Every place is about cost, the property tax, and the consumer's tax (which means consuming drink, food, water, transport). After taking ownership of policies discussion, then another blow of 2% comes in for the family man. The Sg stlye of government is always this dampening, this burdenly nature.
2 steps forward, and 3 more steps to make a happy 10 round.
