You are reading too much 'newspaper'.. read news from internet.. its free and good for you. cheers!Originally posted by :Yes, I did vote for the PAP and will continue to do so simply because the callibre of the opposition is very much poorer........ We don't need opposition candidates to be scholars and professors. Juz look at the behavior of the opposition members. They look like thugs and gangsters to me and nary give me any confidence in entrusting the fate of the nation in their hands!!!
So long as the opposition members are composed of such low life, I will continue to vote for the PAP, as will many others............!![]()

The opposition parties.... They "shoot" the PAP.... They criticize PAP's policies and style of governing.... Everything they say feels so close to the hearts of the average Singaporean... but why aren't they getting the majority of the votes?
Because they failed to win over the hearts of Singaporeans who paused a while to think... "So what if you raised all the problems and difficulties of Singapore citizens? We also know what we are going through now... What we want is solutions! Credible and feasible solutions! No blabbering of nonsense.... No promises that are simply impossible to achieve!"
The opposition has touched the hearts of many by raising out the current problems that we face... but they lack the solutions to win over the majority of the votes...

Think about it... [/b]

If a day comes when something happens to the senile old tyrant (Hooray) and Mai Hum Loong (Hip Hip Hooray) and someone like Wong Kan Seng takes over, only GOD will be able to save Singapore then.Originally posted by goaler:According to Dr Chee, must wait for Old Lee to leave.. then there will be a political change in singapore
in the first place, i do not think all in the cabinet is now happy with LHL's leadership.. there are many more that is more capable than him. LHL will not be in his position if not of his father...
so, we will have to wait for his father to.....
Agree! Too bad many Singaporeans cannot understand these higher level issues, thanks to our world class 'education' system.Originally posted by Joe Black:There is a big mis conception that SDP has no policies. What SDP is fighting for is not bread and butter issues like those of WP's and SDA's.
SDP is fighting for more fundamental issues like the constitution, fair elections, the makeup of the govt bodies, etc. They are just as important as the bread-and-butter issues. These are the issues MM Lee deemed NO-GO zone for many years. Any oppositions who touch these issues are gonna get really hammered by PAP and its machinery from the govt-bias judges to the mata who called themselves "non law enforcement" policemen. The citizen of Singapore are too blinded by the mass "brainwashing" in our education system. Why do you think PAP consistently instill fear among us, citing racial issues to terrorism, using ISD as a weapon to detain any political activities or oppositions. Look at JBJ, Francis Seow, Tang Liang Hong for example. These are bright lawyers who dared the PAP to debate on the national constitution, human rights and freedom in Singapore that got themselves in PAP's cross hair.
SDP has not real agenda... just ranting for nothing.... I think NOT!
In fact, we need all the opposition parties to work together to bring the political field to the next level... to challenge PAP in all front, from bread and butter issues, to foreign affairs and relationship issues, to national constitution and justices system. Then Singapore can progress from a 1 party authoritarian rule to a more democratic society.
Haven't you guys ever wonder when you said the pledge it is all but just brainwashing bullsh*t... what do we meant when we said:
"..to build a democratic society,
based on justice and equality,
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for the nation"
What have we achieved?
Democracy - NO!
Justice - NO!
Equity - more like Elitism
Happiness? - Ask the family whose just lost a husband and father on the track of MRT
Prosperity - Just look around at all the middle income and low income group
Progress for the nation - 146th Freedom press, No freedom of speech, cannot have negative comments on govt, etc. What progress is that... The only progress is really how much richer the rich people have become and the ever widening gaps between the haves and donts.
