Anyway..my point of view. Majority of Singaporeans are spolit, pampered childrens. Yes i do admit i am sometimes.
Whiners...mm..maybe for some issues that are important to the self interests. -
Well, one can expect this kinda of attitude if the system is exactly the kind that fosters this type of attitude.
Since the populace lives in a system in which it is rather difficult to take responsibility for their own lives and are all put powerless to affect change or suggestions via their own means and personal freedoms... it seems the most effective way is to whine... and that is what eventually works.
I mean okay, I let you run the country, you introduce all these rules and changes that I have really little say it because you think it's for my own good... it creates this disconnect between the ground and those running the ship and hence most people are just along for the ride passing up their compliant on how things should be run, as opposed to being active crew on a ship.
Of course people will whine, I don't think they are being ungrateful... but they are really taking the level of control in the system to its logical conclusion. -

Best solution to all think whining is to quit this place.... I mean...let's all go elsewhere like many of us have already done....
Life ain't perfect elsewhere but it trains you to be more independent and take charge of your own lives...More autonomy..Best part is while you work hard at being independent, you get all the other good things of life....wide open spaces, better stuff....Come let's go

Basically our govt just wants to have their cake and eat it.
Things are getting from bad to worse.. the hypocritical "elite" have been blinded by their own arrogance from their earlier success. From squandering away our nation's riches (tax money, helloooo) on poor and/or shady investments, to increasing the burden on citizens' pockets (everything from gst to public transport), to changing and introducing laws and policies suddenly without giving Singaporeans a choice (i.e. Casino, 2-is-enough, EM3), to telling us citizens that we should find a solution to our own problems instead of bugging them ...
Bah... If we citizens are to come up with our own solutions, why are we paying them million-dollar salaries - highest in the world - while us peons down here are supposed to be content with living on less than "peanuts"? Where do those stuffy pomps think their salaries come from? Drop from the sky ah? If everything Singaporeans must DIY, then what for we pay gahmen high salary, pay taxes, ERP, GST?
The government is supposed to serve the people, not the other way round, and if anyone up there thinks otherwise they should get a change of career for the benefit of the MAJORITY of Singaporeans who pay their taxes loyally, who aren't part of the "elite", who love the country! So if law-abiding citizens go thru the proper channels to voice real concerns for problems beyond our means of solving, gahmen jolly well STFU and do their FRICKING JOBS.
Pardon my ranting, but we Singaporeans have been taken for a ride by our own government for far too long. Bullsh*t will get them far but it won't keep them there. They'll have to face their brutal truth sooner or later... let's make it sooner. -

I wonder; if we're expected to solve our own problems, why the hell are we voting for them??? What are they, the MPs and our Government, there for?? Shake leg and make fancy speeches?
Would you pay your maid the amount expected, and then do your own house work???
