As we all know that LKY is aka Harry. I am wondering if LKY would choose 8th Wonder as the winner because of his name?

This island Republic is already Harry's Island, and already considered the 8th Wonder of his own creation.
All it needs is a zapped of zesty ideas to make this a truly 8th Wonder, if only he is willing to let loose some of his grip on Singaporeans.
However, can he afford to do so - in the same manner as allowing Singaporeans to be more vocal, to probe, to demonstrate our feelings - in the same manner as HongKongers are capable of expressing their dissent in the most peaceful way ?
Singapore can be the 8th Wonder - in our own Singaporean way - if we can truly enjoy the liberties to query the Governent, to express our dissent, and check on the excesses of government.
Shin Corp debacle will be first on the agenda, the increase of 2% GST will be next, the manner in which GLCs are allowed to increase prices for all the essential services provided - with the excuse of oil price increases.
Let the true 8th Wonder emerged instead of a zany, fun place to let Singaporeans forget what a truly 8th Wonder Singapore can be. -

I think the Sentosa IR is going to be called Harry's Island.
The news just "borrowed" Pele to advertise Harry's Island. The mainstream media only advertise about Harry's Island, it's virtually telling us that Sentosa's new name will be Harry's Island.
If 8wonder gets the bid, next time you are going to Sentosa, you must say you are heading towards Harry's Island.

I dont think 8th wonder will get it. Their design looks stupid, and harry's island is an uncreative attempt to suck up to MM Lee.

Genting will win. For any resort to be profitable (even with casino), you need "local" customers throughout the year.

universal studio can't work in tropical climate. who wants to sweat it out to take outdoor rides? by the 3rd ride, u r a spent force. theme parks are also passe now. and if u been to genting often enuf, the place is run like a 3rd rate resort. efficient sgp cannot afford that kind of sloppiness.
and imagine an influx of malaysian's coming over to work.....sgp's pinkerton syndrome prefers the whiter kind anytime.... -

2) SGP cannot afford to be in collision course with Malaysia because if Genting loss, there is a very high chances that MY will allow Genting to set up an IR in southern Johor passport free zone. and this will mean competition with our IR business here in Singapore. Imagine, cheaper hotels, no entrance fee, a world class universal theme park and a gambling den right at the door steps of Singapore
3) Universal has already mentioned that most of the rides will be indoor and that will take care of the heat.
4) Universal is not a spent force because they just attracted another 45m visitors to their theme park in Japan, and USA. It is a spent force to you because you are too old for such attraction.
5) Genting Highland is build by the Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, while Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay will build the Sentosa IR. Do expect a total different Genting experience at Sentosa. -
I saw the proposal for the one where they wanted to make sentosa like atlantis. I was like holy macaroni, are you sure that's sentosa?

I think Pele look pretty pathatic to be in that sort of situation.
