What has this got to do with subsidy?

i went to IMH for consultation in sep 2005 for anxiety problems. i was scheduled to see the doctor a few months later. i cancelled the appointment as i was feeling better.
i called today to make an appointment to see the same doctor as i was feeling rather unwell. to my surprised i was told "my case has closed" - reason being i have not seen the doctor for more than 12 months since my last visit.
to see the same doctor again i have to pay unsubsidized rates at $75 per visit. subsidized rate is $26.
i was offered an alternative. to enjoy the subsidy, walk into a polyclinic and let the GP refer me to IMH but do not suggest the same doctor. why??? why cant i see the same doctor at subsidized rates?
the next available slot to see the same doctor is 15 dec. for new cases, feb 2007.
can you believe this? there are so many people visiting IMH!!!

Nothing. It's just an accidental way of showing the actual medical fee w/o subsidy. Never mind the inconvenience, you get to witness the great difficulty in managing a seemless medical care system. There's room for improvement, they are already assuring you.

i am sure every patient prefer to see the same doctor. why do i have to pay unsubsidized rate just because of that?
are they so hard-up for the extra $50? -

i was also told that there is a window period of 3 weeks for a patient to see the doctor.
isnt it amazing? 3 weeks???

wonder how did that fellow come up with the idea that in Singapore, you don't have to wait to see a doctor

No no........dragg.....dont like that...I think you misunderstood a bit...
The psychiatrists/ psychologists work differently.
For instance, 3 weeks, it may seem odd to you, but of course the medication or counselling need time to work on your pscyhe. After 3 weeks or whatever the time period the doctor set, then you go to see the doctor again to see you improve or not.
If the patient never come back again for long time, it is logical that they close the case, assume you are alright already, or do not want to seek further medication.
Dont worry about it......if you cannot book a time slot with the one you prefer, just choose another one.
Maybe you will get a better doc. See the bright side of things.
