There's no such thing as "fair". Not in sg's system, not in US's or any other countries.
If one is unhappy that he's earning $60Kpa, then why not change to something $700Kpa? BUT, one must be able to take the stress level.
An just out of uni engineer can get $2500 a month, but a just out of uni engineer working as a sales consultant at a bank can get perhaps $8000 a month, BUT 3 months of not hitting the sales targets, he's fired.
The world rewards individuals who perform their best in the CORRECT industry. What do i mean by CORRECT?
Let me illustrate:
1. Do you know Singapore Bowling was World Number 1 a few years back? Local bowler Remy Ong was world number 1, local bowleress Jasmine (forgot surname) was also world number 1 sometime back. How many sporeans know? What is their remeuration?
2. Compare soccer, Brazil. World number 1. How much do you think the worst bench warmer in brazil's team is paid?
So the bowlers should complain why are they not being paid the same as the soccer players?
Nothing is fair. Complaining against the government isn't going to get you anything. They're there, and the will still be there. Complaining isn't going to get you anywhere. As my another friend said "ya,ya complain, comment, whatever, I closed another $13K sales in the 2 hours you spent surfing the net."

However, as you would be aware, the clause in the pledge relating to achieving "happiness, prosperity and progress" in itself shows that it's the responsibility of everybody, the government more than anybody else, to achieve said happiness, prosperity and progress.
The issue here is not that people are unhappy. The issue is that people are unhappy and the government is derelict in its duty to recognise and address these issues.
If you think about the concept of government, it is to govern, not to make money for the nation and certainly not to make money for themselves. Are they really doing their job? -
