What is your view on racism in Australia?

Wherever the livelihood of the people of any country is threatened, racism will result.

We are aware that racism exist in Australia, but is it high medium or low? From what I was told, racism problem in Australia is one of the highest among developed countries. And how do you deal with the situation when someone insulted you in the public. Do you just look away and pretend you dont hear him or do you defend yourself by getting into some kind of fight or some agressive verbal exchange? -
aussie is very racist lor..thats wat my cher told me..
cause she went there n there were many racist incidents...a example she gave us was that my cher n the husband was hailing for the bus but they werent at the bus stop and they are running towards it..then the bus driver saw lor..after ppl who board the bus boarded..then the bus driver purposely drive slowly so that my cher have to run more..but in the end the bus just drove off..waste my chers running effort.

Also ...I always remember Singaporean sales girl like to serve ang moh first. Here in Australia they serve asians first ....that's in Tiffany and Co, LV etc.
It is only usually the uneducated trash who are racist and worse - easily forgiveable but ...own kind discriminating against own like the "get out of elite uncaring face"girl, that one is unforgiveable. -

Before we talk about other people's houses, we might want to take a look at our own house and get it cleaned up first. -
well.. IMO, there is a form of racism in any country in this world, just that it is of higher practice in certain parts of australia.. it makes me really uneasy sometimes. cheers

I had been to many different countries... the most amount of racism that i had experienced is Australia... the 2nd is republic of Ireland....

Why worry about whether Oz has a problem with racism, when we have similar issues at home? I'd say it's no more racist than Singapore.

Cronulla happened because a sizeable Lebanese minoirty have gone too far and refused to bother to even integrate, let alone keep their own behavior in check. The Cronulla incident was a powder keg waiting to explode. However, in the midst of all that media driven sensationalism, there are cases of people who cross racial lines to help stop the violence. Let's focus on that rather than perennially harp on racism.
It's clear that someone here has an agenda and is seeking fuel to answer his own hypothesis.
In other news, I would concur that we Asians get better service in finer establishments Down Under. Sometimes it helps when you have better purchasing power.

Actually, racism is institutionalised and subtle. THe Cronulla and ANM incidents are only physical manifestations.
I ssuspect SGIO could be a racist entity. Asians who get into traffic accidents should beware of this company if the other party is a white person and is covered by them. SGIO will rule against the Asian, regardless of circumstances. -
