PAP's so call meritocracy is compromising Singapore future?

A 'choice' made is not concluded by the done deal nor to have to live wi the consequence necessitate thereafter and it also does not illicit the right of reserve not to make informed choices in the future. Without being voted by the people and shown a proper succession in the PM's seat which means that not majority of people will recognize him and give him the blessing to rule. I somehow believe that our Opposition parties are Not underhanded Enough to take on the powers that are already in place.

When every avenue for the opposition is blocked, how are they to do so?
Rules and regulations are made by the ruling party and are made in their favor, what chances does ANY opposition have?
It is like, you enter a battle arena, and you find your opponent is in armour suit amd is armed with a long broad sword, and you are only allowed to wear a pair of sandlas, shorts and a singlet. Your weapon, a twig from a nearby tree branch....

Given the way the system is set up, we are unlikely to see any opposition party make much of a dent in the incumbent. What we need is for the PAP to self-destruct from within. A possible scenario is a sizable number of PAP MPs who deep down inside hate Lee Junior's guts breaking away and forming their own party, after LKY dies. I don't rule out the PAP refusing to recognise the results of a GE if they lose, and trying to mobilise the military or their gurkhas to hold on to power. After all, they are pretty supportive of the military junta in Myanmar. LKY himself said that he might used the army to prevent what he calls a "freak election result" However, since ours is a citizen army, it might backfire on the PAP if they were to try this tactic.

A matter of fact, Singapore is under the hands of the lee family which is in power for 40 years. Be it LKY or Lee Hsien Loong. Even Temasek holdings and other semi-government firms are in the hands of the lee family. Aren't we under the hands of the communist society? Are we communist? Why are there cover-ups and other undertable lobangs in singapore government? Why can't we choose? Why can't we speak up? Its because singaporeans are scared. Cowardly society led the politicians to climb on top of our head. What is national service for? What is national service for the white horses? We are being treated unfairly.

But I feel strongly that, for anything to change (politically), Singapore must go through a very bad DOWN TIME. A major major crash in economy and political stability before recovering under a different gov truthfully re-elected by the people.
It is a very big sacrifice.... and I don't wanna be here when that happens...

I just have the impression PAP headhunt from all the private sectors' smart people. From what you say i'm most likely wrong.

Yes they do. But the scope is way larger for ministers. It's easy to push a boulder half your size. But the larger the boulder, the more effort it requires exponentially to move it the same distance. Not to mention *bureacacy* is like the worst friction you get. You cant just sack anyone in the civil service but you can in the private world. -
