destroyed undersea cables that feed
the Internet. To use a traffic analogy,
it was like an accident on the Pan-Island
Expressway (PIE) at Tuas causing
a traffic jam on the other end at
Changi Airport. If drivers knew of a
jam on the PIE stretching all the way
from Changi to Tuas, they would avoid
this highway altogether.
What if terrorists placed time-delayed explosives on all the cables around Singapore and blow them all up at the same time? They do not even need to enter Singapore waters. -

This incident was a real eye opener wasn't it? Singapore does not have an Internet catastrophe action plan! The newspapers sell Singapore like it is prepared for even Nuclear disaster. We have all kinds of drills but when crunch time comes, No Internet Disaster action plan!
Everyone wondering what was happening while some businesses were losing millions every minute.
At least make public announcements and inform people so they can do something!
Singtel caught with her pants down - no back up strategies. That is what happens when you worship the God of Profits at the expense of Public service.
Why was Singtel customers affected so badly? The Singtel servers must be overseas!
Singtel must be profitable and let Singapore suffer!
Singtel business customers cannot access their email... what was the big internet problems Malaysian faced? They cannot Blog. I guess Malaysia ISPs have their server in Malaysia. The blogs servers are overseas that's why they have problems blogging. click to link

do you have brains? its not that easy to reach the cables..there's a reason why they're called UNDERSEA cables and there's a reason why they need DEEP SEA DIVERS cum engineers to risk their lives diving into the depths to reach them

Before 911 happened in the USA, there were reports of threats from AL QUEDA but it was ignored.
There were also reports of the possibilities of terrorists using planes as weapons but it was ignored.
I hope "vito_corleone" is not working in our security organisations or we are doomed for sure. -

That is why in Singapore, we cannot just always leave it to them. Even though they do not like to hear it, we must say it.
