I am helping locals by giving ONLY locals jobs in my company, and I'm saving whatever I can and when time is up, I am leaving this motel of a country. I am NOT against globalization, but I re-iterate that our gov should put in place a limit on the number of un-skilled foreigners coming in and filling up ordinary folks' jobs. Don't come and tell me ordinary folks should go abroad just to work as waiters/waitresses, etc. And shut your mindless babble about how they can we should be able to. Where they come from they have a choice to live the life they want, people here largely don't have any choice.
Problem with you, is that you GUESS and ASSUME everyone's status in here. I'm gainfully self-employed, and I rant on hehalf of those who are suffering because of our gov's thoughtlessness. -

Average and lower income earners are always $$$ not enough lah......You had probably never gone through hardship. That's why, you are always impulsive with words used on others. If a guy...have no savings, Medisave, insurance for medical expenses. Would you pay medical fee on his behalf? Unless, that guy is related to you.
So far....is there any SG hospital do not collect or ask payment from its patients?.......From what I know....if one do not pay for long time. Hospital will serve legal letter upon them.
So far...in Singapore. I've never heard of anyone expecting others to pay their hospital bills.

Japan is a very country, people there could opt high standard of living or simple lifestyle near country side.
Cost of living in country side is much worth than anything else...where ones could share and exchange vegetable and fruits that plucked from your own garden.
In country side...you could buy a piece land from land owner, 100 square metres and below...you don't have to apply for any permit or licence to erect a house or whatsoever!!!
They have really really good caring, sincere and not so $$$$$ face govt.
I regretted for not following my cousin to live and work in Japan.
I really envy and jealous over of what they have!!! -

Well...this is up to individual.
For me, friendships, relationship and parents are important part of my life.
People like us, we are seeking for reasonable treatment from govt..not keep increasing taxes, services charges, talking about their salaries and comparing with TOP earners, telling us sg have no natural resourses (where infact, our natural deep water port had been generated billions of dollars...but the earnings were mostly channel into their pockets).
Tomasick had been reporting excellent investments and returns, our national reserve had been accumulating surpluses year afer years...Sound sooooo good and yet we are still getting crabs of prices or taxes increasing year afer years. Not only these...the foreigners are getting subsidys from education and medical treatment. So... what are we as local breed sinkaporeans where we had sarcrified two-2.5 years in NS, 13 years in-camp-training and got many injuries during training, paying taxes all these while, upbring our children, paying endless pigeonhole loans with lease of 99years, helping in prevention of crimes, keeping singapore clean? -

I rather my money go to some smart student who CANNOT afford higher studies on their own because their parents are poor than Give to someone who wants the scholarship just for the "prestige" then pat their backsides and walk away.
