Students put miniature receivers in ears during exam

EXAM cheats in China have literally been getting a earful.
A doctor removing miniature receivers that look like batteries from the ears of college students. -- AFP
University students have taken to placing miniature receivers in their outer ear canal to get answers during their tests.
But some have had to hot-foot it to the doctor when the tiny receivers slip too far into their ears.
The metallic devices are about the size of a match-stick head, about 3mm in width and look like mini batteries (inset picture).
Once placed in the ear, the miniature receivers are not easily spotted by a casual observer.

An ear-nose-throat doctor in the health department of a university in Xi An had to extract miniature receivers from two students two days ago.
If the student has a broad ear canal, it is possible to retrieve the receiver. But it is difficult to do so if the ear canal is narrow.
The doctor said the receiver can cause ear inflammation, which could affect one's hearing.
In serious cases, it could even cause mental retardation. - AFP. -

Sounds like sour grapes....
Many of the top students in our schools and Universities are PRC students...and they did it without cheating.
