6 months pregnant mum-to-be Fen received a rude shock when she was travelling on board the MRT on 8 January 2007, and this man in the picture simply ignored her even though she went "excuse me", and carried on reading his book.
The male commuter, recounted Fen, actually looked up at her, then turned away, refusing to remove his plastic bag on the seat next to his.
Said Fen, in her MMS to STOMP:
"He was such an inconsiderate man. I am a pregnant woman and I was standing right in front of this Uncle for two stations. hoping he will remove his plastic bag. But he lowered his head and ignored my presence. Other passengers in the train did not offer me a seat.
I think the authorities should emphasize in greater detail train courtesy and consideration!"
seriously we should let up seats to older pple and pregant woman especially no matter how tired we are unless fainting
This is true but I didn't give a fcuk about it when I was in Oz unless the person is pregnant, invalid or agedOriginally posted by menoob:trains should have seats reserved for pregnant/ elderly people.
sg is a FINE city, so why not set a law & fine fine fine
off topic:
on brisbane trains, there are signages that read:"Students on concession are not allowed to sit while adults on full-fares is standing." i know NPNT but i dont have a camera with me that time.
Stop finding excuses for the government.Originally posted by justcooler:Can't blame everything on the gov, it just the up bringing
if hes old.. i guess hes entitled.. but i'm not sure about his book though..Originally posted by used:just bcos he's old doesent entitle him to 2 seats![]()
Stop finding excuses for yourself! You choose not to give up a seat for someone else who needs it. It's not because "CME neber teach me lehz, eets de teecher, the skool, the moe, the gahment faults that i never give up seat for preg woman/old person"Originally posted by maurizio13:Stop finding excuses for the government.
If every part of your life is controlled by them since birth to death, I would say they would be responsible.
The policies and examples set by our leaders would lead us to certain paths.
Don't the blame the government when your parents didn't bother to teach you....your father should do the spanking, it's not the government's jobOriginally posted by maurizio13:Stop finding excuses for the government.

If a baby when given birth to, is isolated from all human contact. When that boy grows up to be a teenager or adult. Do you think he will have any concept of morality, courtesy or even ethics? It is the interaction of society that defines his concept of morality, courtesy and ethics. Who determines how our society acts or behave? Perhaps you are a rare case, whereby during delivery, you would utter vulgarities at the doctor for smacking you on the butt to clear surfactant.Originally posted by CM06:Stop finding excuses for yourself! It's your own CHOICE to move your butt or not for a person in need.
I dont think the "gahment" teach you to write with your right/left hand either.
Our government has its shortcomings...but courtesy, ethics and morality are all personal choices to make. Dont be a gorilla.
By the way.. there's something called learning the right and wrong of the actions of someone else. If you just choose to blindly follow "policies and examples set by our leaders" without thinking whether it's good/bad you are just like them.

Waaah So SMART! Such subtle and succint language usage! Bring in wiki as "proof" somemore.Originally posted by maurizio13:If a baby when given birth to, is isolated from all human contact. Hehehe
Personal choice is an acquired state of mind.
There was a case known as "Wild Boy of Aveyron".
A man without culture and social interaction would be an animal.
They have a "I'm old so I deserve this and that, it must go to ME" kind of attitude.Originally posted by Ignatiaus:Alot of old folks here very jaded
They have that "I'm old so i don't give a F**k" mentality
But then again the other people around the pregnant lady should have gotten up.
I would
