I hear his speech about increasing GST to 7% recently n the reduce of company tax to 1%,his speech show that he is a completely inhuman person now.He says government policy cannot please the public n it has to go against the majorities objection so as to benefit the public in the long term.
He is such an !diot now,i believe boot-licker Goh also learn from his bad habbit.This fuking Lou Lee must die,if he dont die,our life will be very difficult.Only after his death,our life will be better. -

if you see lao lee saying those things, he believes it.. you see lao goh, he is uneasy as if he was coerced into saying those things...

Sometimes, painful decisions have to be made and be effected I feel. The world does not come around by our telling, rather it is us who would have to adapt to reality. The idealistic me would love a different Singapore, but by the fact we are Singapore, we have embraced idealism and sustain our tiny state for the past forty years staked againist all odds. It is imperative for us therefore, to keep the dream alive by facing the challenges of reality and not be entranced to the myth of western egalitarianism which will do us no good.

Things have been spiralling downward for the past decade or so.. You know and I know that it's only going to get harder for us peasants who hail from the middle class and below.
Getting emotionally involved will only make you a bitter, angry citizen (think of those PAP-bashing taxi drivers). The only way to survive in Singapore happily right now is to ignore, or be ignorant of, things.
But don't despair, the old man is not immortal. If Singapore is too stifling, you might consider migration (whether temporarily or permanently, up to you). At least that way, you can keep sane and focus on the important things in your life while the gahmen out the mess it created.

Economy slowing down is not Singapore's fault.
It is a phenomena since 1998 Asian Crisis.
Now only China can grow 9%.
For this decade until 2010, economists say global economy is slowing down, only grow abit.
But never mind, leter your kid will experience the boom.
It is always like that, some generation will experience slowdown, some generation will experience boom.

hmm.. learning history back in secondary school and research from wikipedia makes me realise he is an intelligent man.. intelligent but not perfect.. this just might be one of the times he isnt perfect.. yes, up to 7% down to 1 %.. bad for us, good for foreigners (AGAIN!!) imo, this is a move to shift sgreans OUT of singapore.. make sgreans become lawyers in britain, financial advisors in US, pop star in taiwan (hint hint) and yada yada.. why earn income here in sg? look elsewhere so we can keep the BEST here! cos the best can afford 7% gst with fat incomes which are assisted by 1% company tax.. middle-range income hurts a lot here cos of increase in company revenue and profits, providing upper-range income to increase.. yes, middle-range income increases, but disposable income is NOT.. with increased taxes and inflation and yada yada, middle-range income is hurt with higher costs of living as a whole..
back to the topic at hand, lky is the "father" of singapore, yes.. he is a man to be admired to be so motivated and determined after the japanese occupation.. he stepped forth to repair and develop our broken nation.. perhaps so many years of power has gotten into him, perhaps not.. but i believe he is ESSENTIAL for singapore.. singapore needs lky.. without him, a PUNY island with no resources nor manners would not be able to become what we are now.. no man is perfect, this is something singapore has to learn.. when everything is good, how much recognition has he been given? the new generation holds no respect for him.. the only recognition he's been getting lately are monetary and none as a respectable man.. he is an old man yes, certainly not immortal, but his death means GREAT trouble for singapore.. despite the locals losing out, it is for the future that we do not lose out, for generations to come.. the greatest challenge for singapore, for should i say pm lee hsien loong, is when lky passes away.. would lee hsien loong be able to carry on the "legacy"? this is a huge task.. is he capable, is anyone capable enough? we should be worrying about this more than 7% of gst and 1% of company tax dun you think?
P.S. i'm looking for information regarding the lee "legacy", can anyone help me out? i'm only 17 i dunno stuff from before well.. like mr lee hsien loong's admission to the cabinet and his family and all.. only read up on wiki, but i feel that's utterly insufficient.. thanks very much!! =) and forgive my kiddy language here =x -

From merging till the Singapore we know now, almost everything we know barely pleases the public.
But those policies made us what we are now. In a way, you're right that he's inhumane. But to be kind, means to be evil.
If your sibling/child commits a crime, will you cover it up or report it? What's the consequences of both actions?
The same logic applies to governing. It will never be perfect. -
hahas lee dynasty.. wonder if they do take a peek into this forum.. we shall see then.. imo, when mm lee is gone, pm lee just might lose his place.. perhaps they do ask mm lee for suggestions on policies and all.. i predict the downfall of singapore's stable political system.. in this case, we might lose out to hong kong in terms of foreign investment.. we just have to wait and see.. political candidates, hopefully the new ones are competent and able..

all right spencer, thanks for the "comments".. without reading up anything about him, how can i really analyse? i'd love to think deeeeeeply into this issue but i for one, find mm lee a brilliant man who deserves beyond respect.. like what can i say, he's respectable, not to mention intelligent.. but i have doubts on pm lee hsien loong.. his position in the cabinet may be his ability but i'm quite sure he's got pushes and help.. just wanna know more.. analysis is based on knowledge, not comments..

Most internet materials are not trustworthy, I would say get mm lee's memoir. If i am not wrong, he written one and his granddaughter written one. Other then this 2, get some other books written by the opposition of sg. When u want to analyze in depth, get as many books from all sources.
