Singapore used to lament that it did not have any natural resources and it has only its people to rely on. over years it has milked its population whichever way it wanted and built up a reserves of more than US$100 billions. The theme is always 'Money Not Enough'!For most Singaporeans they just lament to pay and pay.
Lately Indonesia has banned the export of sand to Singapore and Thailand has cancelled some of its govt to govt link with Singapore. Singapore should sit back and reflect what has actually gone wrong. Has Temasek gone through the proper channel to take over the sensitive national asset from Tatsin?Has the Chinook helicopter from SAF blown up too much dust during its last tsunami rescue operation and caused some red eye problem? Dr Mahatair was not happy because Singapore wanted to charge them market rate for the urgent loan he needed to fight off the currency speculators during the last Asian currency crisis,he still bear the grudge against Singapore until today.
For the sake of survival, do we need to go to that extend to stay alive?More poor Singaporeans are heading for the MRT tracks to end their lives. Is the govt doing the right thing to just keep taxing its people in good time and even in bad time. they claimed that economy is doing well but consumers' spendings are drastically down, what has gone wrong with the flexi-wages and the effects of globalisation. Are they taking more care of the SMEs than its own poor citizen?
