1. Education Ministry setting up the Singapore Sports School to nuture budding talents. We can begin to see the results from the recent DOHA Asian Games, especially in Sailing.
2. Placing Khaw Boon Wan as interim and then Health Minister. Probably the best appointment as yet. His down-to-earth style of leadership and rampant transparency has turned heads, even among doctors and medical professionals. For him, his strength lies in being honest with what the govt can offer, especially to the aging population, including realistic handouts and medical grants. -
