So u are trying to say those clerks in NS are the worse of ppl in Spore?? Well done!!! The rjcs ,hcjcs ginna are really scums then...Then who are the elite work force in spore?? Can u tell mi?? Btw, how sure are u in stating one young sporean can do jobs of 2 to 3 man? What makes u think that u cant find that kind of ppl in msia?? U have been to msia and work there before? I doubts so....I can tell u even a car mechanic in Msia must not only know how to repair engines but also know to service air cond and installation of car accessories. It is pretty obvious u do not know the real situation in msia. What i am talking abt are private companies in msia(be it big or small) own and operates by chinese.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Is it fair for you to compare the worst in Singapore with the best in Malaysia and then conclude that the Singapore young are rotten?
One think I know about Singaporean young people is that they take on many responsibilities! In the other counties, they might work late but you don't expect them to do 2 or three jobs! There they employ two or three people to do what 1 Singaporean young person does!

From ur tone u must be a young person that live in a world of self delusion.
I think you have to check your facts first before you make statements like that. In msia, as far as I know, it's quite common for people to have more than 1 job to supplement their income. Even some civil servants have extra jobs.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Is it fair for you to compare the worst in Singapore with the best in Malaysia and then conclude that the Singapore young are rotten?

I think you should read first before you comment. I said take on many responsibilities as in take on many other responsibilities and not just those that they were specifically employed to do. In the same job. In the same company.Originally posted by saffron60:I think you have to check your facts first before you make statements like that. ''It is estimated that 10 to 15 per cent of the 20,000 cabbies in the Klang Valley are civil servants.
"The number might be more. They do it to earn extra income. They get off government duty at 4pm or 5pm and work as ‘spare’ taxi drivers until midnight. Next day, they return to their jobs as civil servants," Malaysian Taxi, Limousine and Hired Car Drivers and Operators Association president Yusoff Lahir told the New Straits Times.''

If civil servants have extra jobs, what about those in the private sector? One can only guess that the percentage would be higher.
Please check your facts first before making statements like that.
You specifically said:Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:I think you should read first before you comment. I said take on many responsibilities as in take on many other responsibilities and not just those that they were specifically employed to do. In the same job. In the same company.
hi there, 300k singapore dollars is really nothing to me. haha.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:HDB and loan interests
COE by balloting or mixture auction and balloting
MOH no hospital privatisation
Losts years of NS Service
If only Singapore was a real democracy with real choices to choose their MPs
Singaporeans will have extra $300K more in their bank accounts by the time they hit 65.

Small boy, why don't you ask your daddy how much he set aside for his retirement fund (including retirement income), what is the estimated future value of his assets versus the future cost of living as well as inflation, where he plans to retire and how much he set aside for your inheritance in his will. With all these info, then you can come back here to talk, ok small boy?Originally posted by [email protected]:hi there, 300k singapore dollars is really nothing to me. haha.
the cost of living in japan cost more then that, money is not a problem ya. my dad earns more then *confidential* so ya. yes, its true, everyone should start saving money. its hard to come by.
Double the responsibilities but double the pay because they are not working for the same boss. I worry for you.Originally posted by saffron60:Anyway, if we were to use your logic, than I can also say that some msians have got two jobs, and with the jobs, they have double the responsibilities, which means that they have got more responsibilities than singaporeans who have only one job.
And using your logic, I can also say, these msians who have got two jobs, work for two different companies, and therefore have got double the responsibilities compared to the singaporeans that have one job. With double responsibilities, then there is double the pressure as well, so these msians with two jobs, can take double the pressure than the singaporeans with one job.
Your argument doesn't make any sense, you don't even have any facts to back up your case. Go do your homework first before talking.
It is not a question of "saving". The issue is people stealing away your $300K. The issue is how to get back the $300K. The question is how if you cannot get it back, how to stop them from stealing some more.Originally posted by [email protected]:hi there, 300k singapore dollars is really nothing to me. haha.

Then, those singaporeans with one job can look for two jobs to double their pay, since they only have one job with pressure from only one job. Double the pressure, double the pay then! And we are back to square one.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Double the responsibilities but double the pay because they are not working for the same boss. I worry for you.
Singaporeans cannot Malaysians can. What do you suggest then? Blow it all at the casino? Losing it through inflation is still better than having it taken away.Originally posted by :With such low interest rates, $300K put in the bank will cause you to lose money given inflation........![]()
But you don't have any proof, do you? So go do your homework first before making sweeping statements like these.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Singaporeans cannot Malaysians can. We are not back to square one.
Yes, if people want to stick to one job 'cos they want to climb the corporate ladder that's their choice, nobody forced them. So it's not fair to compare these people with msian or thai counterparts.Originally posted by foomwee88:Anyway, I had retired but to tell u the fact that the younger sporeans work as hard as us cauz unemployment rate of professionals is very high in Spore and most of them stressed out after work cauz they wanted to climb up the ladder as soon as they can!!!Pls pay a visit to CBD n c for yrself now all the lights r switching on!!!!![]()

Based on my observations working in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand. Anyway this is not the topic at hand.Originally posted by saffron60:But you don't have any proof, do you? So go do your homework first before making sweeping statements like these.
PAP "droved" them by their policies of taking away as much of the people's money as possible.Originally posted by saffron60:Yes, if people want to stick to one job 'cos they want to climb the corporate ladder that's their choice, nobody forced them. saying things like ''Singaporeans cannot have more than one job but Malaysians can'', doesn't make any sense. At the end of the day, it is up the individual's choice; whether they choose to stick to their career path or diversify so that they can earn extra income.
Yes, some people tried to "change the subject".Originally posted by foomwee88:I think it is not 9 to talk about malaysian n spore chinese,we r both hardworking but in differance situations now!!!!
Nothing can be more effective in leading people deeper and deeper than PAP take away your money policies!Originally posted by NotFromVenus:I believe Rich Father and Poor Father story have told us that the direction of this argument leads deeper and deeper in to the Rat Race.![]()
I agreed with u they r taking away our $ but if they can create $ 4 us 2 make $$$,they r still good mah!!!Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Nothing can be more effective in leading people deeper and deeper than PAP take away your money policies!
That "only" they can and so you must pay up is propaganda! Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Bangkok no PAP but still? While we give credit where credit is due, we speak out when people rob us using legal means!Originally posted by foomwee88:I agreed with u they r taking away our $ but if they can create $ 4 us 2 make $$$,they r still good mah!!!
But,can they is a big question????
